What started off as a casual sunny-day link up in a London park quickly turned into one of the internet’s latest “dark humour” debates after a prank involving fake death news left viewers seriously divided
The clip starts with a woman approaching two men relaxing in the sun, telling them she’s a journalist writing an article on “what it’s like hanging out with the mandem.” The trio quickly get comfortable, vibing in the park with music playing, laying on blankets and proper summer-in-London energy all around.
But things take a dramatic turn less than a minute later.
While sitting with the men, the woman suddenly receives a phone call delivering a double tragedy: her grandmother has allegedly died and her cat has jumped off a balcony. Clearly distressed, she begins crying while the two men sit there stunned trying to process what they’ve just heard.
Instead of brushing her off, both men immediately step in to comfort her, reassuring her not to apologise for “ruining the mood” while trying to calm her down and make sense of the situation.
The twist? The whole thing was fake.

After revealing it was all a prank, the men’s faces completely change as they realised the emotional situation they had just responded to wasn’t real after all.

The video has since sparked conversation online around “dark humour” content and how far prank culture should actually go for virality. While some viewers found the absurdity of the situation funny in a shock-humour kind of way, others felt fake death announcements crossed a line, especially considering the men were clearly trying to support someone they believed was genuinely grieving.
