RAPPER LOSKI SENTENCED TO 8 MONTHS FOR KNIFE POSSESSION AFTER POLICE INVESTIGATE M40 CRASH

Drill rapper Loski has been sentenced to 8 months imprisonment after police officers investigated a fatal crash on the M40 in Buckinghamshire in the early hours of Saturday near junction 2. Loski, whose real name is Jyrelle O’Connor, was found at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Beaconsfield, where he attempted to run from officers and resisted arrest. He was eventually detained; however, police discovered a folding pocket knife with a blade over 7.5cm in his possession. Thames Valley Police confirmed he was charged and appeared in court on Monday.

At High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court, the 26-year-old from Blackpond Lane, Farnham Royal, pleaded guilty to possession of a knife and resisting a constable. Known for his music career and collaborations that charted in the UK’s official album rankings, as well as hit songs such as Uptown and Burna, Loski was sentenced to eight months in prison. He was also recalled to prison for breaching his licence, having been released in 2024 following a firearms offence committed in London in 2023. Police had initially been searching for the driver involved in the fatal collision, which happened at around 1:15 am on Saturday and involved a black Volkswagen Golf and a blue Mercedes AMG C250. The driver of the Golf, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, while a passenger sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Detective Sergeant Ed Crofts of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “O’Connor was located while officers were searching for those involved in a fatal road traffic collision on the M40. He attempted to make off from officers, and resisted arrest when the knife was located. He was arrested and charged within 24 hours and has now been jailed for the offence. He was also recalled to prison for breaching his licence conditions for an earlier offence, and I am pleased he is back behind bars where he belongs. We will never tolerate anybody carrying dangerous weapons in our community and will seek to bring to justice those that do so.”

Trad Almaghrabi, 23, of Harlington Road in Uxbridge, has also been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. A 22-year-old woman from Beaconsfield, a 21-year-old woman from Northolt in Ealing, and a 26-year-old man from Beaconsfield were also arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and other related offences. They have all been released on police bail. Police described the investigation as complex and have asked the public not to speculate online as they continue to support the victim’s next of kin.
