The Nigerian influencer known as fauzahxo has opened up over social media about why she’s leaving her husband Danilo Popovski. The Abuja-based content creator claims that Danilo turned violent and began abusing substances after the birth of their daughter. It’s also alleged on Fauzah’s social media that Danilo had an affair with one of her friends.

In the statement published to her social media, Fauzah said that she is finally ready to be honest about her relationship breakdown after spending so much time portraying a perfect family-image to her followers. Fauzah described how the red flags she had dismissed when she began dating Danilo grew much worse after the birth of their daughter. She recounts an alleged incident in which Danilo arrived home intoxicated and behaved dangerously around their newborn, leading her to leave the property with the baby due to fears for their safety.

Fauzah also alleged that Danilo cheated on her with one of her friends and shared a video to social media in which a woman seemingly admits that an affair happened with Danilo in December last year. Fauzah made further allegations about Danilo’s abusive behaviour, including an incident in which she says he took her daughter’s passport and her credit cards, leaving her feeling extremely vulnerable.

A separation agreement was then reportedly drawn up that required Danilo to vacate the property and seek professional help however Fauzah claims he repeatedly violated the terms by returning to their home intoxicated. She shared distressing audio videos on social media that allegedly show Danilo verbally abusing at this point.

Fauzah said she stayed in the marriage longer than she felt she should have, hoping to give her daughter the experience of growing up with both parents. However she ultimately decided that protecting herself and her daughter had to come first.

Fauzah said: “I’m choosing myself, my daughter, my peace and our safety,” The allegations reflect Fauzah’s personal account and have not been independently verified by authorities at the time of publication.
