INSIDE WIRELESS FESTIVAL 2025

Wireless Festival 2025 took over Finsbury Park across the weekend, delivering one of the most ambitious and talked-about events in the festival’s history. This year marked the 20th anniversary of Wireless, and it celebrated with Canadian rapper Drake headlining all three nights, switching up the set and theme with each performance. The festival featured three primary stages: the Main Stage, the Old Spice Stage, and the Hennessy Stage (which only featured on the Saturday). Across the weekend, the event championed rising talent, UK rap icons, international stars, and surprise appearances to form a show-stopping celebration of modern music.

Friday's kickoff leaned heavily into R&B and melodic hip-hop. Acts like DJ AG, Odeal, KWN, Leon Thomas, and Summer Walker took to the Main Stage, setting a sultry tone for the evening. On the Old Spice Stage, fans enjoyed performances from Kamilla Rose, Nippa, Sailorr, Karri, and Roy Woods. The night concluded with a star-studded set by Drake, who was joined on stage by PartyNextDoor for a set rich in crowd-pleasing anthems like “Marvins Room” and “Come Thru.” A standout moment came when Lauryn Hill made a surprise appearance during a medley of “Nice for What” and “Ex-Factor,” sending fans into a frenzy and creating one of the festival’s most talked-about moments.

Saturday’s lineup was built around the theme “Drake & the Mandem,” shifting the energy toward grime and UK rap. Artists such as Sahbabii, Nemzzz, Lancey Foux, BigXthaPlug, and Boy Better Know lit up the Main Stage during the day, while over on the Old Spice Stage, the likes of Kenny Allstar, YT, Chy Cartier, Len, and Fimiguerrero delivered underground bangers. The Hennessy Stage added a club-themed vibe with sets by Twin B, DJ Supa D, Rampage, Sir Corey DJ, and DJ Sugar B. Drake’s Saturday set boasted an impressive lineup of guests including Yeat, Skepta, Central Cee, Dave, J Hus, Headie One, K-Trap, and Fakemink, showcasing his deep connections with the UK rap scene. Drake even went on to show immense love for UK rap artists, calling London rappers "the best lyricists in the world" and saying "nobody can out-rap London". From the U.S., 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, and Latto made appearances, while Vanessa Carlton filled the audience with nostalgia by performing “A Thousand Miles” alongside Drake.

Sunday is set to close the festival with a Caribbean and Afrobeats-influenced showcase. The Main Stage will be hosted by DJ AG, Masicka, Spice, Popcaan, and Vybz Kartel before Drake takes over once again. Burna Boy also had a solo set but is expected to return to join Drake, adding to the celebratory energy. On the Old Spice Stage, Izzy Bossy, Skeete, Odumodublvck, Darkoo, and Uncle Waffles kept crowds moving with a fusion of Afro sounds and amapiano. Drake’s final night is expected to embrace global sounds, including live collaborations with Burna Boy and Vybz Kartel, plus standout performances of hits like “One Dance” and “Controlla.”

So far over the three-day event, Drake brought a total of 18 special guests to the Wireless stages: Lauryn Hill on Friday; Yeat, Skepta, Central Cee, Dave, J Hus, Headie One, K-Trap, Fakemink, 21 Savage, Latto, Sexyy Red, and Vanessa Carlton on Saturday; and Burna Boy and Vybz Kartel on Sunday. Wireless Festival 2025 will go down in history as more than just another festival, as it was a cultural milestone. Drake didn’t just headline the festival; he demonstrated his showmanship and his appreciation for UK music and global culture. For those lucky enough to attend, it wasn’t just a music festival; it was a moment in time.
