DAPPY RESPONDS TO HIS BABY MOTHER IN NEW TRACK

Dappy is facing fresh scrutiny online after listeners connected lyrics from his latest song, Straight Facts 2, to the ongoing public dispute between himself and the mother of his child, Imani Campbell.

The North London rapper, whose real name is Costadinos Contostavlos, first rose to fame as a member of N-Dubz alongside Tulisa and Fazer. The trio became one of the UK's biggest urban acts during the late 2000s and early 2010s, producing hits such as Number 1, Strong Again and Playing With Fire. Dappy later launched a successful solo career while continuing to remain one of the most recognisable figures in British music.

Now, however, conversation surrounding the artist has turned from music to his personal life.

The latest debate centres around Straight Facts 2, a recently released track that many social media users believe addresses the public allegations made by Imani. While Dappy does not mention her by name, one lyric in particular has sparked discussion online.

"Flat chest, flat purse, can't flex on me," he raps.

The line comes just weeks after Imani publicly criticised the rapper and father of her child in a series of videos discussing their co-parenting situation.

"Spiting the mother of your child should not be more important than making sure your child lives a great life," she said.

Imani also shared screenshots which she claims show the amount of child support she receives from Dappy, with one image appearing to indicate payments of just under £16 per week for their 10-year-old daughter. She further alleged that she has largely carried the financial burden of raising their child on her own.

Dappy appears to push back against the allegations throughout the song, using the track to challenge claims that he has failed to support his daughter financially. In the lyrics, the rapper suggests that the public narrative surrounding his contribution is incomplete, claiming he has provided support in ways that have not been acknowledged.

He also references allegedly paying for cosmetic procedures for Campbell and goes on to make further accusations regarding a shared account that he claims was set up for their daughter.

"I shut it down, I found out you were stealing P's from me for weeks," he raps, alleging that money was being taken from the account without his knowledge.

The claims quickly gained traction online, with many questioning whether the amount shown accurately reflects the level of support being provided. Others pointed out that social media rarely captures the full picture of family arrangements behind closed doors.

Following the release of Straight Facts 2, some listeners accused Dappy of responding to concerns about his daughter with personal insults aimed at her mother. Others defended the artist, arguing that musicians have long used their art to express frustration, address criticism and tell their side of a story.

The situation has since evolved into a wider conversation about co-parenting, public accountability and whether family disputes should be played out online at all.

Residents, is music a fair place to respond to personal allegations, or should family matters involving children stay off the timeline?
