The British entertainer Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is due to appear before the District Court of Western Australia in Perth on June 15th 2027 and the retrial is expected to last approximately eight days.

The case follows an alleged incident involving a 20-year-old woman after Yung Filly performed at a nightclub in Perth in September 2024. Barrientos has denied the allegations and has maintained that the sexual activity was consensual.

His original trial took place in Perth in July 2026. After considering the evidence, the jury acquitted Barrientos of three rape charges and two other charges. He was, however, convicted of two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.

The prosecution told the jury that the woman had been a fan of Barrientos before meeting him at his Perth performance and that she had described him as her "idol" and had been excited about seeing him perform. According to the prosecution's case, the woman and Barrientos met in the nightclub's VIP area before leaving the venue with his entourage and CCTV footage shown during the trial showed the pair entering a lift at the hotel.

The prosecution alleged that the woman initially consented to sexual activity once they reached the hotel, but that the encounter later became non-consensual. Prosecutors alleged that Barrientos assaulted the woman and continued sexual activity after she had withdrawn her consent.

The jury was unable to reach verdicts on three further charges of sexual penetration without consent and the prosecutors subsequently sought a retrial on those outstanding charges, which will now take place next year. The upcoming proceedings will focus on the three charges that remain unresolved while the three rape charges on which Barrientos was acquitted will not be retried.

Barrientos remains on bail while awaiting the retrial and has been allowed to stay in the UK under conditions imposed by the Australian court. He is required to return to Australia ahead of the proceedings and sentencing for his two assault convictions is also expected to take place after the outstanding charges have been dealt with.

This is how he managed to grow his online popularity and make name for himself globally. It hasn’t been confirmed if Barrientos still has a relationship with the members currently.

With the retrial now scheduled for June 2027, the court will once again examine the evidence surrounding the outstanding allegations. Barrientos has not been convicted of those charges, and the outcome will be determined by the court following the retrial.
