DIGGA D SEEMINGLY THROWS SHADE AT RAPPERS TURNING TO BOXING FOR A PAYDAY

UK drill rapper Digga D has made it clear that he has no intention of stepping into the boxing ring for the same money as some of his fellow rappers, appearing to take aim at Russ Millions ahead of his anticipated fight against Kirky.

The 26-year-old West London rapper, whose real name is Rhys Herbert, rose to prominence as a leading figure in the UK drill scene and a member of the collective CGM (Cherish God More). Known for hits including Woi, Chingy (It’s Whatever) and Pump 101, Digga has enjoyed considerable chart success despite a career repeatedly interrupted by legal troubles and prison sentences.

Having been back home for approximately a year, Digga has largely avoided publicly addressing his former rivals. However, some of his longstanding feuds have continued to resurface, most notably his rivalry with fellow drill star Russ Millions.

Russ Millions, whose real name is Shylo Batchelor Ashby Milwood, is a 30-year-old rapper from South London who made history alongside Tion Wayne in 2021 when their hit Body became the first UK drill track to reach number one on the UK Singles Chart.

Despite their shared success in the genre, the two rappers have a complicated history.

Their relationship wasn’t always hostile. The pair previously collaborated on the track Mr Sheeen, which featured verses from both artists and a joint chorus. However, their relationship subsequently deteriorated amid reports of an altercation involving members of Digga D’s circle.

According to accounts circulated online, members of CGM allegedly confronted Russ Millions, taking jewellery including a chain and watch, while members of his team and management were also reportedly caught up in the incident. These allegations have remained part of the public narrative surrounding their feud, although the full circumstances have not been independently established. Digga later appeared to reference the alleged confrontation in his music, contributing to years of back-and-forth exchanges, social media commentary and speculation about whether the two would ever settle their differences.

Now, with celebrity boxing becoming an increasingly popular avenue for UK rappers and internet personalities, it appears that Russ is open to putting their differences aside and settling matters in the ring.

During a recent interview with boxing content creator Fred Talks Fighting, Russ was asked whether he would consider fighting Digga D.

“If the money’s right…” Russ responded.

“We’re getting older, we can’t keep doing this street sh*t. The silly stuff. So we can settle it in the ring any day he’s ready. We can do this.”

However, Digga D appeared less than impressed by the suggestion.

Taking to social media, the West London rapper seemingly addressed the growing speculation, accusing unnamed individuals of using his name to generate publicity for their boxing events.

“Man are out here boxing for a £100k,” he wrote, accompanied by a laughing emoji.

“And keep using MY name as promotion to get views.”

Digga went on to claim that mentioning him had become a central part of the promotional strategy behind certain fights, accusing content creators of deliberately using his name in captions to attract attention.

“I’ve been home for a year and haven’t said 1 word about anyone,” he continued.

“Now all these punks think they can call my name to get some motion.”

He also suggested that his name alone carried enough influence to boost another artist’s career, declaring:

“The name ‘Digga’ will get you your first charting single.”

Although Digga did not explicitly name Russ Millions in the posts, the timing of his comments, alongside their longstanding rivalry, has led to speculation that the messages were primarily directed at the South London rapper.

In another post, this time featuring stacks of cash and diamond-encrusted jewellery, Digga made it clear that a six-figure payday would not be enough to tempt him into the ring.

“Tell em I ain’t boxing for a £100k,” he wrote, before adding:

“Rise a million & we can talk.”

The rapper’s apparent dismissal of a £100,000 boxing purse is particularly striking given his well-documented taste for expensive jewellery, designer clothing and extravagant purchases. Digga has previously showcased luxury spending on social media, including a reported £50,000 shopping spree that he pointed out wasn’t even spent on himself.

While £100,000 would represent a life-changing payday for many, Digga appears determined to make it clear that his asking price is considerably higher. His comments come a year after his 20-month prison sentence relating to cannabis offences. The rapper, who has spent time at HMP Wormwood Scrubs in West London, has experienced multiple periods of incarceration throughout his rise to fame.

Despite those setbacks, Digga has maintained a significant presence in British rap, with his music, lifestyle and personal controversies continuing to generate attention.

For now, his latest comments appear to have poured cold water on the prospect of a £100,000 showdown with Russ Millions, although his demand for a million-pound payday suggests he hasn’t completely ruled out the possibility of a fight. With Russ preparing to face Kirky in an event associated with controversial internet personality HSTikkyTokky, the latest exchange has once again placed the relationship between two of UK drill’s most recognisable figures under the spotlight.

Whether promoters would ever be willing to put up the seven-figure sum Digga is demanding remains to be seen.
