Yung Filly has taken the witness stand in his ongoing rape trial, admitting that he bit the woman at the centre of the case but insisting the injuries were consensual "love bites" exchanged during sex. The 30-year-old content creator and musician, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is standing trial in Perth, Australia, where he has pleaded not guilty to six counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of impeding the woman's breathing. 

Giving evidence in his own defence, Barrientos told the jury he was attracted to the woman after meeting her at a nightclub and described the atmosphere between them as "good". He maintained that every sexual act between them was consensual and denied assaulting, strangling or forcing himself on the complainant. 

However, Barrientos did acknowledge biting the woman during the encounter, telling the court the marks were the result of consensual "love bites" rather than violence. He also said the complainant voluntarily handed over her mobile phone before entering his hotel room, claiming it was standard practice to protect the privacy of those present. 

The prosecution's case differs significantly. Prosecutors allege that while the pair initially engaged in consensual sexual activity, the encounter later became violent after consent was withdrawn. The court has previously heard allegations that the complainant was bitten, slapped and strangled, with jurors shown photographs of injuries including bruising and bite marks. Barrientos denies those allegations, and the trial remains ongoing. 

As details from the latest day of proceedings circulated online, social media users appeared divided. Some argued that biting or "love bites" can be a consensual part of sexual activity and said Barrientos' admission alone should not be interpreted as proof of criminal wrongdoing. Others pointed to the admission as a significant piece of evidence, arguing it should be considered alongside the prosecution's allegations and the medical evidence already presented in court. Across platforms, many also stressed the importance of allowing the legal process to run its course before reaching a verdict.

The trial is continuing in Perth, with no verdict having been reached. Barrientos continues to deny all charges against him.
