Pastor Tobi Adegboyega has once again got the internet talking after celebrating the eighth anniversary of Phoebe, the women-only private members' group linked to his church, SPAC Nation. The lavish celebration looked more like a luxury garden soirée than your average church event. Guests arrived dressed in elegant pastel gowns fitting the floral theme, while videos from the day showed members cheering, dancing and celebrating alongside Pastor Tobi.
Naturally, Pastor Tobi made an entrance. Dressed in a pink suit complete with a Gucci belt, he smiled for the crowd, threw up finger hearts and hand hearts, and soaked up chants of "PT, we wanna party!" from attendees.
Another clip from the event showed Pastor Tobi on stage alongside several female leaders as he publicly addressed members in a speech that left many viewers doing a double take. Speaking directly to the women, he praised their loyalty with words including,
"You all were there... you were there in life, there in sickness," while those on stage looked towards him throughout the address.
Unsurprisingly, social media quickly compared the moment to wedding vows.

The celebrations also featured one of SPAC Nation's better-known female leaders, Jess RV, who used her time on stage to encourage women to become members of Phoebe. Speaking passionately about the organisation, she told attendees:
"If you believe in the vision of PT, the time is now to actually join... buy in." She also acknowledged that membership comes at a cost, adding, "We know it's not cheap on a monthly basis, but just join," before finishing her speech by celebrating what being a Phoebe member means to her.

Once the clips hit social media, the comments section did exactly what comments sections do. Many labelled the organisation a "cult" , a criticism that has frequently followed SPAC Nation over the years.

Others were more fixated on the reported monthly membership fees, questioning the idea of paying to be part of a faith-based community.

Then there were those who, while not interested in signing up themselves, admitted they had to respect Pastor Tobi's consistency when it comes to building a loyal community and monetising his vision. As one conversation started about faith, another quickly became about business.
Whether viewers saw sisterhood, strategy or something more controversial, Pastor Tobi and SPAC Nation got people talking once again.

Residents, what are your thoughts? Would you ever join a private members' club like Phoebe, or is this one not for you? 👀
