Residents, this one has the timeline split 👀
Not3s has gone viral after releasing “Pick Up” alongside Amber, a TikToker who originally blew up after sharing messages from her ex that were turned into an AI-generated song.
The original clip quickly took off online, racking up nearly 17 million views and building serious momentum across platforms like TikTok. But instead of ignoring the trend, Not3s leaned into it, officially dropping a version of the track and crediting Amber as part of the moment.
The move has sparked a wider conversation about AI in music, especially around how artists handle their likeness being used and whether jumping on viral AI content is smart or risky.
For some, it is simply good marketing. For others, it raises bigger questions about the future of the industry.
@onlymorts didn’t see an issue, commenting, “It sounded like him anyway 😂”
@mc_versatile backed the move, saying, “They is no rules in music or content creation! Not3s get your bag mate! 👌🏿”
But not everyone is convinced. @femijaye warned about the long term impact, writing, “Everyone saying it’s not that deep wont be saying that in 5 to 10 years when they have replaced 80% of real artists with AI. People are too short term minded.”
Meanwhile, @risingtalents1 summed up the situation by saying, “He took advantage of a viral moment on a song that was made by AI that sounded like him.”
Residents, smart move or slippery slope? 👀
