Rapper Ghetts, whose real name is Justin Clarke Samuel, has pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving following a tragic collision that took place in Ilford on 18 October last year. The forty one year old musician appeared at the Old Bailey via videolink from Pentonville prison, dressed in a green polo shirt, as he formally entered his guilty pleas.
Ghetts also pleaded guilty to a separate charge of driving dangerously before the fatal impact. The crash occurred at around 11.33pm on Redbridge Lane in Ilford, northeast London, and involved Clarke Samuel’s BMW.

Twenty year old Yubin Tamang, a Nepalese national living in the UK, suffered critical injuries in the collision and died in hospital two days later. His death has had a profound impact on his family, friends and the local community.
Ghetts, widely regarded as one of the pioneers of British grime, has been in custody since his arrest. His sentencing will take place at a later date, where the court will consider the full circumstances of the incident and the consequences of his actions.
