BOXER DAVE ALLEN REVEALS THAT MEN URINATE IN SINKS MORE OFTEN THAN PEOPLE THINK

Heavyweight boxer Dave Allen, known for his candid personality and memorable fights throughout his career, has raised eyebrows after making an unexpected confession during an interview. The topic of urinating and where men choose to go came up during his conversation with Canadian combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani, leading Allen to reveal that he sometimes prefers the sink.

Explaining the unusual habit, Allen said,

“Sometimes it goes behind me. I try and wee in the toilet and it ends up behind me, it’s weird.”

He went on to describe how long he has been doing it, admitting,

“I’ve been weeing in the sink on and off since I was about 15. People do it. People lie, people say that they don’t, but everyone does it, it’s easy.”

Allen claimed that using the sink offers convenience and comfort, adding that his accuracy is far better than when using a toilet. He even joked about the ease of the process and the perceived benefit of not needing to wash his hands afterwards.

While statistics on the subject are limited, studies in the UK have previously suggested that men often prioritise convenience when choosing where to urinate, particularly in private spaces like bathrooms. Hygiene experts, however, consistently warn that sinks are not designed to handle bodily waste, with potential bacteria transfer making the practice far from ideal.

As of the time of the article, The Shade Borough ran a poll asking men whether they have ever urinated in a sink. Out of thousands of responses, 65% claimed they have never done it, while 35% admitted that they have at least once.

The confession sparked a mix of humour, disgust and disbelief across social media. One commenter said,

“I do it when I am brushing my teeth sometimes!”

Another wrote,

“This was a headline I never thought I would read. Washing knickers in hotel kettles and now urinating in bathroom sinks. What nastiness wont I hear from this demographic?”

A third added,

“Everyday men just find new ways to get disgusting.”

Although many found Allen’s honesty entertaining, others viewed it as an example of questionable hygiene habits that should not be normalised. Still, the boxer’s unfiltered remarks have once again reminded fans why he remains one of the most outspoken personalities in British boxing, unafraid to discuss even the most unexpected topics.
