Everton striker Thierno Barry has become the latest Premier League footballer to have his home targeted by burglars after thieves broke into his property while he was playing against Newcastle United.

The incident took place on Thursday evening, October 29, as the 24-year-old helped Everton secure a 3-1 victory over Newcastle in the Carabao Cup at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Barry's partner, Charlene, confirmed the burglary in a statement shared on social media, revealing that nobody was inside the property at the time.

She described the experience as extremely distressing and violating for the family, while appealing to the public for information that could help identify those responsible.

The couple have also offered a financial reward for information leading to the identification of the suspected burglars.

The incident has attracted additional attention following a TikTok video Charlene shared several weeks earlier, which showcased the couple's luxury walk-in wardrobe and collection of designer handbags.

The video featured a selection of high-end accessories, prompting renewed discussion about the security risks footballers and their families can face when sharing glimpses of their private lives online.

However, there is currently no confirmed evidence that the video was connected to the burglary or that the suspects used it to identify the property.

Barry's burglary is the latest in a series of incidents involving high-profile footballers whose homes have reportedly been targeted while they were away playing for their clubs.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes was among the recent victims after his Cheshire home was burgled on October 21, while he was in Italy with Manchester United for their Champions League fixture against Como.

According to reports, masked intruders entered the property and stole designer jewellery and other valuable possessions. Cheshire Police confirmed that a burglary had taken place following reports of suspicious activity involving three men in the area.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White was also reportedly targeted just days before Barry's property was broken into.

His partner, Britney De Villiers, subsequently spoke about the frightening experience, urging other families to remain vigilant and ensure their home security systems were switched on.

She also highlighted how unsettling it was to discover that their family home had been violated, particularly with young children involved.

Following the incident, Charlene's message made clear how difficult the experience had been for the family.

Although nobody was inside the property when the burglars struck, the incident has understandably raised concerns about the safety and privacy of the Everton forward and his loved ones.

The couple are hoping that anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has information about the break-in will come forward.
