A man claiming to have shared a prison wing with Chris Brown has gone viral after accusing the R&B star of turning his back on him following his release, insisting that all he ever wanted in return was "a bit of loyalty." In a series of videos posted to his social media account, Dane Fitz reflected on his alleged friendship with Brown during the singer's time behind bars in 2025.

Fitz claimed he played a significant role in looking after him while they were incarcerated together. Brown had been remanded in custody at HMP Forest Bank, Salford after being charged over an alleged bottle attack in a London nightclub. The 37-year-old R&B star pleaded guilty to affray at Southwark Crown Court in London on July 24, 2026, admitting to his role in a violent, unprovoked attack on music producer Abraham Diaw in February 2023.

"When I was in jail and I looked after him… only me that can associate with him," he says in one clip, before alleging that promises were made about helping him rebuild his life once they were both free.

According to Fitz, those discussions included travelling to the United States and receiving support to get back on his feet.

"They was promising to take me to America," he claims, adding that none of those promises ever materialised.

Throughout the videos, Fitz suggests Brown's management may have encouraged the singer to distance himself after his release, although he provides no evidence to support that allegation.

Fitz repeatedly stresses that his frustration is not about financial gain.

"I don't want money, I don't want a penny… just a bit of loyalty," he says.

In another emotional moment, Fitz adds: "I'm good enough for him in jail, but now I'm out it's like he's too good for me."

To support his account, Fitz shares what he says are recordings from inside the prison, including a video where Brown can allegedly be heard asking him, "Everything good? Anything else you need?" while checking that his prison clothing fitted properly.

Fitz also claims that his association with the singer came at a personal cost, alleging he lost privileges after being accused of supplying Brown with contraband.

"Just to remind him the sh** I did and what he went through after he left," he says, claiming he was moved off his prison wing, placed on closed visits with his children and was unable to secure a prison job following the allegations.

The videos also include screenshots of what appear to be Instagram direct messages between himself and Brown. In the alleged exchange, Brown appears frustrated that details of their time in prison were being discussed publicly, while also reminding the man that he had previously gifted concert tickets to his girlfriend.

Brown allegedly wrote in response: "YOU A B****! CLOUT CHASING A** WHITE BOY! N**** you ain't protect s*** in jail!! I WOULDVE BEAT ANY N**** UP ON THAT BLOCK including you!!! You want a hand out and complaining on social media like a f****** female! BIG MEN DONT MOVE LIKE THAT AND I DIDNT HAVE TO GIVE YOUR UGLY METHHEAD A** GIRLFRIEND TICKETS TO MY SHOW. SO YOU DOING ALL THIS INTERNET S*** AINT FINNA MAKE YOU FAMOUS F*****! F*** OFF SOMEWHERE BEFORE YOU RUN INTO SOME REAL ISSUES F****** WITH ME."

Fitz then wrote over the message: "Not about tickets mate. You treated me like a fan and a nobhead not. A fan I would of done more for some one who look after me in a jail I drove 8 hours for u just to treat me like some d*** tickets wow I wanted loyalty not tickets."

Brown continued: "LYING A** WEIRDO! You a b****. You was a DO BOY! Corny a** white boy! You mad because ain't nobody tryna give you a job." To which Fitz replied, "If someone was there for me in a foreign jail and looked after me and stopped people spitting in my food. Made your time easy I'd have made a lifelong friend."

Fitz then shared a message Brown wrote for him shortly after before release on a napkin, which read in part. "Dan Appreciate you Sorry it's been rough. Love my bro!"

The former inmate ends his video with one final message directed at the singer.

"If you don't got loyalty, you won't understand."

The back and forth messages between the star and his former inmate caused a stir online - especially the TSB Residents. One wrote on our Instagram page,

“Dear Slim, I wrote you, but you still ain't callin.” Another joked, "would you say you was begging it?" A third commented, "Proper beg.. he was probably the one recording him so he could claim he helped him outside. Proper calculated thought he made it in Chris brown entourage all while Chris peeped his game from the beginning."

A third commented, Nah but, for real. Loyalty in your hardest times it’s only right to be kind to those who was there for you. He’s upset because he went through a lot for that not to be recognised. You shouldn’t treat people like that. I love Chris and yes I wouldn’t be friends with people in jail after I left but I’d never forget someone’s kindness especially if they went out of their way for me.

The clips have sparked widespread debate online, with some viewers sympathising with the man's disappointment and arguing that genuine friendships shouldn't end once circumstances change. Others, however, have defended Brown, suggesting prison relationships do not always translate into life outside, particularly for high-profile public figures.
