Former Love Island star Ella Thomas has revealed that her birthday celebrations took an unexpected turn after she ended up in hospital with a foot injury caused by broken glass. What started as a glamorous night out filled with music, drinks and birthday vibes quickly turned chaotic when a smashed bottle reportedly dropped onto Ella’s foot, leaving blood “everywhere” and forcing her to head straight to A&E. The injury was serious enough to require surgery, with Ella later recovering in hospital surrounded by friends.

Sharing the aftermath with followers on Instagram, Ella posted a carousel documenting the night from start to finish, proving that even a trip to the hospital couldn’t completely kill the birthday spirit. One photo showed the reality star laid on a stretcher in a hospital hallway, wrapped in a blue blanket while her injured foot was heavily bandaged.

Despite the panic of the moment, Ella still managed to keep her humour intact, joking that the medication doctors gave her had her feeling “energised” enough to laugh through the situation and make the best out of a bad night. Surrounded by her close friends at her bedside, the Love Island star appeared to lean on her girls for support as the celebrations turned into an unexpected hospital sleepover.

Fans also couldn’t help but point out that Ella somehow still looked flawless throughout the ordeal, with many flooding her comments section with well wishes, jokes and messages telling her she was “too pretty for A&E”.

Thankfully, Ella appeared to be in good spirits afterwards, reassuring supporters through her posts while recovering from the injury. Ella reached the final of Love Island‘s series 10 in 2023 with Tyrique Hyde. They had a tumultuous on-and-off relationship before officially splitting in early 2024.
