Anthony Joshua has made a winning return to the ring after stopping Kristian Prenga with a second-round knockout in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The 36-year-old heavyweight was competing for the first time since last December's tragic car accident in Nigeria, which claimed the lives of two of his close friends and long-time team members, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.

Joshua's comeback did not get off to the ideal start, with Albanian heavyweight Prenga putting him under immediate pressure.

Within the opening 20 seconds, Prenga landed a huge uppercut that sent Joshua crashing to the canvas. The British star was then knocked down for a second time before the end of the opening round, leaving many wondering whether the upset was on the cards.

However, Joshua showed the resilience that has defined much of his career. He regained control with a sharp jab before backing Prenga onto the ropes and unleashing a series of powerful hooks that shifted the momentum firmly in his favour.

The pressure continued into the second round, where Joshua finished the contest in emphatic fashion, forcing the referee to stop the fight after another heavy barrage of punches.

The victory marks an important step in Joshua's comeback as he looks to re-establish himself among boxing's heavyweight elite.

Attention now turns to a long-awaited all-British showdown with Tyson Fury. Although no official date or venue has been confirmed, speculation continues to grow that the pair could finally meet at Wembley Stadium later this year in what would be one of the biggest fights in British boxing history.
