US rapper Fatman Scoop, born Isaac Freeman, has tragically died aged 53, according to his tour manager.

In a social media post, tour manager Birch Michael (AKA Pure Cold) said: "It is with the heaviest of hearts I announce the passing of Isaac Freeman III, known professionally as Fatman Scoop."

The rapper, most famous for the 2003 hit Be Faithful, was seen collapsing on stage during a Connecticut show on Friday as shocked fans looked on.

Paramedics were seen giving Scoop CPR on stage in front of concerned fans, however, he passed away this morning.

His tour manager added: "You taught me how to be the man I am today.

"I love you Scoop, thank you so much for everything you gave to me."

His family also shared the unfortunate news of Fatman Scoop's passing on his Instagram page, saying: "Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life," they said. "FatManScoop was not just a world class performer, he was a father, brother, uncle and a friend.

"He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength, and courage. FatMan Scoop was known to the world as the undisputed voice of the club.

"His much made us dance and embrace life with positivity. His joy was infectious and the generosity he extended to all will be deeply missed but never forgotten."

His talent agency MN2S also paid tribute to the late performer, stating: "Scoop was a beloved figure in the music world, whose work was loved by countless fans across the globe.

"His iconic voice, infectious energy and great personality made an indelible mark on the industry, and his legacy will live on through his timeless music."

FatMan Scoop was also scheduled to perform in the UK at Reminisce Festival in St Helens.
