Love Island winners Julia Majchrzak and Lorenzo Alessi have confirmed that they have gone their separate ways, just weeks after being crowned champions of the ITV2 dating show.

The couple won the 2026 series on 27 July, taking home the £50,000 prize after their relationship developed during the latter stages of the competition.

However, their romance has faced increasing speculation since they left the villa, with questions surrounding the state of their relationship becoming more prominent in recent weeks.

Julia entered the villa as a Casa Amor bombshell on Day 23, while Lorenzo was an original Islander who had been in the villa from the beginning of the series. The pair coupled up following the Casa Amor recoupling and quickly became one of the most talked-about couples in the series. Despite Julia facing difficulties with some of the other girls following her arrival, she and Lorenzo continued to build their connection and eventually made it through to the final.

Their relationship appeared to continue after they left the villa, although a number of incidents soon prompted fans to question whether everything was as settled between them as it appeared.

One of the first major talking points came after Lorenzo was noticed liking photographs of other women on Instagram shortly after leaving the show. The incident led to criticism from some viewers and became a subject of discussion between the pair during media appearances.

Julia later spoke openly about the situation, expressing her frustration that Lorenzo appeared to have found time to interact with other women’s social media posts despite not having organised a date for the pair. The couple also faced questions about their plans outside the villa, particularly after they had discussed going on their first proper date together.

During an appearance on This Morning, Lorenzo said he had plans to take Julia to a rooftop bar, but suggested that organising the date required "a lot of planning".

Julia also shared a number of cryptic TikTok videos, which some viewers interpreted as possible hints about difficulties in her relationship with Lorenzo. That changed this week, when reports emerged claiming the couple had actually split before attending the National Television Awards.

Sources cited in reports claimed that the relationship had "fizzled out" the previous week, with the pair deciding to attend the NTAs together despite no longer being a couple. A source said:

"It’s the usual thing where life outside the villa proves to be too tough a test. Viewers already saw how Lorenzo’s approach to dating was nonchalant to say the least and Julia also had high standards."

The source continued:

"It proved to be tricky to square that circle on the outside and things fizzled out last week. They agreed to do the NTAs together as they still get on, there’s no bad blood, and then would consider how to proceed."

The reports suggested that, despite the end of their romantic relationship, there was no major animosity between the pair and that they were still on good terms.

Their decision to attend the NTAs together initially appeared to leave fans questioning whether the reports of a split were accurate.

Julia and Lorenzo walked the red carpet together at the ceremony on Tuesday, 8 September, and appeared affectionate as they posed for photographs. The pair were also seen holding hands, creating the impression that they were still together.

However, reports later emerged claiming that the atmosphere between them changed after they entered the event.

The pair were reportedly seen having a disagreement near the entrance to the afterparty before heading towards Gaucho, where tensions allegedly continued.

The developments added further fuel to the speculation surrounding their relationship, particularly given reports that they had already decided to end their romance before attending the ceremony.

JULIA BREAKS HER SILENCE AFTER THEIR NTA APPEARANCE

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, 10 September, the 26-year-old reflected on their appearance at the NTAs and explained why she chose to attend the event alongside Lorenzo despite their relationship having ended. Julia wrote:

"I attended the NTAs alongside Lorenzo, and it felt like the right way to celebrate our journey and the chapter we shared together."

She went on to express her gratitude for the experience and said it was an honour to be there to support him.

Julia then confirmed that she and Lorenzo had made the decision to go their separate ways since leaving the villa, describing their relationship as a special chapter that was not necessarily meant to last forever.

She added that the pair had shared an unforgettable experience and that the memories they created together would continue to hold an important place in her heart.

Julia concluded her message by looking ahead to the next chapter of both of their lives and expressing optimism about what the future holds for them individually.

Her statement therefore confirms that the couple had already decided to end their relationship before their appearance at the NTAs, explaining why they were still seen together at the ceremony despite reports of a split.

Lorenzo has also appeared to acknowledge the end of the relationship. During a TikTok live stream following the NTAs, he read out a viewer’s comment saying, "OK break up announced and now he’s active what?" Lorenzo replied:

"No I thought I’d be more nonchalant I guess."

While he has not released a statement matching Julia’s Instagram message, his response appeared to acknowledge the speculation surrounding their breakup.

Julia and Lorenzo’s relationship has therefore come to an end only weeks after they left the Love Island villa as winners.

Although their time together has been surrounded by speculation since the show ended, Julia’s latest statement makes clear that the pair have chosen to move forward separately while remaining appreciative of the experience they shared.
