A dance group, named Ghetto Kids, earned themselves the golden buzzer during a Britain's Got Talent audition that touched the heart of every audience member.
The group are based in Kampala, Uganda where they live together in one house with around 30 children, many of whom are orphans. The children secured the first golden buzzer from former Strictly Come Dancing judge, Bruno Tonioli as the ITV talent show returns back to screens for its 16th series.
Aged between 5 and 13, the children are part of an organisation named Ghetto Kids which uses music, dance and drama to help disadvantaged, street and orphaned children. The dancers performed an energetic routine to a medley of songs while wearing matching green and patterned outfits.
Tonioli enjoyed the performance so much that he eagerly pressed the buzzer before the audition was over, which caused golden confetti to fall upon them as they continued to dance. After the routine, professional dancer Tonioli said: ‚ I was literally exploding. I am telling you, you should be proud of yourself. I cannot wait to see you back"
Simon Cowell said that the golden buzzer, which sends the act straight through to the live semi-final, has never been pressed before during a routine but he described the moment as "magical".
He added: "I think it's incredible. You are so young, you've flown all the way, no fear, this is an audition we aregoing to remember and it was brilliant." "That's what this show is all about and that's what the golden buzzer is for."
