TYSON FURY BACKS DONALD TRUMP AS BRITAIN'S NEXT LEADER

Tyson Fury has found himself at the centre of another political storm after publicly backing Donald Trump to become Britain's next prime minister during a visit to the White House.

The former heavyweight world champion attended a special UFC event hosted on the White House lawn, where he was spotted wearing a black cap emblazoned with the words "Donald Trump for Prime Minister". The appearance quickly generated headlines and divided opinion across social media, with many questioning why the British boxer had chosen to publicly endorse the American president for a role that does not exist within the US political system.

Fury was among several high-profile guests at the event, which formed part of celebrations surrounding America's 250th anniversary and coincided with Trump's 80th birthday. The boxer attended alongside his wife Paris and later shared photos from the occasion on social media, including images featuring Trump, UFC president Dana White and Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg.

One image was captioned:

"Viva Trump! Don for (Prime Minister) of the UK."

The post quickly attracted attention online, with supporters praising Fury's willingness to speak his mind, while critics accused him of using his platform to endorse divisive political figures.

The controversy is far from the first time Fury has found himself involved in political debate. Throughout his career, the Manchester-born fighter has built a reputation for speaking openly on a range of issues, often attracting both support and criticism in equal measure.

Among the reactions was a comment referencing Fury's remarks during the height of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020. One person wrote:

"Typical, he has always been like this. I remember his 'ALL LIVES MATTER' talk on the ITV breakfast show in 2020 during the pandemic."

The comment refers to Fury's appearance on ITV's Good Morning Britain during nationwide discussions about racism and policing following the death of George Floyd in the United States. During the interview, Fury stated that "all lives matter", comments which sparked criticism from some viewers who felt he had misunderstood the purpose of the Black Lives Matter movement. Others defended him, arguing he was expressing a belief in equality for everyone.

Another person commented:

"They always show who they really are."

A third wrote:

"Fury is a walking contradiction…he’s still super confused about who he is…."

Fury's support for Trump has also drawn scrutiny because of the wider criticism often directed at the US president. Opponents frequently accuse Trump of using inflammatory rhetoric around immigration, race and minority groups, allegations that have followed him throughout his political career. Supporters, however, argue he simply speaks directly on issues many politicians avoid.

The latest incident comes at a time when Fury's future inside the ring remains a major talking point. Despite stepping away from boxing following his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, speculation continues around a potential return, particularly for a long-awaited showdown with Anthony Joshua.

For now, however, it is Fury's choice of headwear rather than his boxing gloves that has people talking.

Whether fans see the gesture as a joke, a political statement or simply classic Tyson Fury, it has once again proved that few figures in British sport generate discussion quite like the Gypsy King.
