Reports have emerged claiming that actor Tom Hardy will not return for a third season of Paramount+ crime drama MobLand, bringing his run on the series to an end after two seasons. Hardy, 48, has played fixer Harry Da Souza in the hit series alongside Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, but industry insiders have reportedly suggested that he will not be part of the show’s next chapter.
According to reports, tensions are said to have developed behind the scenes during production, with claims of disagreements involving producers and frustrations over creative decisions. Sources have also alleged that issues surrounding punctuality and script discussions contributed to strained relationships on set.
Some reports suggest Hardy was consistently late to production during season two and gave frequent script notes and changed dialogue. He also apparently offered notes on the script without being asked. One source claimed that he was frustrated that the series was becoming more about his co-stars Mirren and Brosnan. Hardy’s behavior led producer Jez Butterworth to nearly quit, and Paramount fired Hardy as a result. Hardy played Harry Da Souza, a fixer for the Harrigan crime family.
Industry newsletter Puck reported that Paramount had allegedly decided not to continue with Hardy for a third season, although neither the actor nor the studio publicly commented on the claims. The gritty crime drama follows London crime bosses Conrad and Maeve Harrigan as they battle rivals threatening their criminal empire, with Hardy’s Harry Da Souza serving as a key fixer caught in the middle of the power struggle.

This is not the first time Hardy has faced reports of on-set tensions. During the filming of Mad Max: Fury Road, stories emerged of clashes between Hardy and co-star Charlize Theron, with reports at the time describing a difficult working relationship between the pair.
Hardy later addressed those claims in an interview, admitting that the pressure of filming had been intense and acknowledging that he could have handled the situation differently. He reflected that both actors were under enormous strain during production and suggested that, with hindsight, he could have been a better partner on set.
The latest reports surrounding MobLand come after Hardy previously hinted he may need to slow down professionally due to ongoing health issues.
In an interview with Esquire UK, the actor opened up about a series of physical problems, including knee surgeries, a herniated disc, sciatica and other injuries, joking that his body was “falling to bits.”
It had previously been suggested that Hardy might take time away from work following MobLand to focus on rest and recovery.
