RESTAURANT GOES VIRAL FOR ITS WILD MENU ITEM NAMES

UK burger brand Slutty Buns has found itself at the centre of an online conversation, and it’s not necessarily the food that has people talking. The delivery-focused brand operates through multiple locations across the UK, with its food available through platforms including Uber Eats and Just Eat. Slutty Buns operates as a shadow kitchen, also commonly known as a ghost or virtual kitchen, meaning food can be prepared from existing commercial kitchens primarily for delivery rather than from a traditional Slutty Buns restaurant with its own dining space.

However, it’s the brand’s very NSFW approach to naming its food that has recently caught people’s attention. The menu leans heavily into the Slutty Buns theme, with chicken strips renamed “Strippers”, loaded fries sold as “Slutty Loaded Fries” and a double cheeseburger given the eyebrow-raising name “Smash Me Daddy.”

Then there’s the “Awesome Foursome”, a £62 meal deal featuring four burgers, four portions of fries, four drinks and three “Strippers.” Another option, the “Playboy Meal for 2,” comes with two double cheeseburgers, fries, drinks and, unsurprisingly, another three Strippers.

Even some of the descriptions keep the joke going, with the brand describing its food using phrases like “naughty secret sauce” and encouraging customers to “bring backup” for its larger meals.

Online, the raunchy branding has divided opinion. Plenty of people have simply had a laugh at the names, while others joked that saying some of the items out loud is enough to put them off ordering altogether.

However, not everybody sees the funny side. Some have criticised the decision to sexualise something as simple as burgers and fries, arguing that the branding feels unnecessarily explicit. One review of the brand specifically criticised its “hyper-sexualized language” and questioned whether names such as “Smash Me Daddy” were appropriate.

Whether you find it hilarious, outrageous or simply too much, Slutty Buns has certainly managed to get people talking, although ordering a “Smash Me Daddy with a side of Strippers” might require a little more confidence than your average takeaway order. 😭
