DJ D2, whose real name is Kelby Macedo, has been accused of physical and emotional abuse by his ex-partner and the mother of his child.

The woman, who has asked to remain anonymous, has detailed several alleged incidents involving Macedo, including claims of physical violence, verbal abuse and abusive messages exchanged during their relationship.

The DJ’s ex has provided images and screenshots which she says support aspects of her account, as well as NHS documentation relating to ahead injury that she associates with one of the alleged incidents.

One of the most serious allegations relates to an incident in which the woman says Macedo threw a SmartWhip tank at her head. She says the object caused a significant injury and has shared an image showing a large bruise or swelling on her head. She also provided NHS records which contain a reference to an “injury of head”, which she says relates to the incident.

The woman further alleges that Macedo pulled out her hair during another incident and shared an image which she says relates to that allegation.

She also previously posted a video on Snapchat showing her arm with what appeared to be marks on it, alongside the caption: “I HATE MY BABY DAD I SWEAR.”

Macedo has responded publicly to the allegations on social media, giving his account of the events described by his former partner.

While responding to the allegation involving the SmartWhip tank, Macedo said he takes “full accountability” for throwing it at her head. He has, however, denied other allegations made against him. In particular, Macedo denies pulling out the woman's hair. He has also said that some of the other incidents described by his former partner involved physical confrontation from both sides and that certain actions on his part were carried out in self-defence.

In one example, Macedo said he bit the woman after attempting to get away from her while, according to his account, she had him in a headlock.

The allegations have also extended beyond claims of physical violence, with the woman sharing screenshots of messages which she says were sent by Macedo during their relationship.

Some of the messages contain comments about her weight and appearance. Among the alleged messages are comments including: “just know you’re BMI is sky high” and “you was the last fat ting I slammed.”

Macedo has acknowledged communicating with the woman in this manner but argued that the way they communicated with one another had become “unfortunately normalised” within their relationship at the time. He has also disputed the suggestion that the abusive behaviour was solely coming from him, describing the conflict as 'mutual'.

Another allegation made by the woman concerns an incident in which she says Macedo “shoved [her] face into the wall” while she was holding their baby. She shared an image of flowers which she says Macedo bought for her afterwards as an apology for the alleged incident.

Macedo has disputed her account of this incident, saying that she was the person who initiated the fight.

The former couple share a young child, and according to the information provided by the woman and Macebo, social services and the Metropolitan Police have also been involved at various points. The involvement of authorities does not, on its own, establish the truth of either party's allegations.

Speaking exclusively to The Shade Borough, the woman explained why she wanted to speak publicly about her experience.

“I think it’s important that conversations like this are given a platform because what women experience behind closed doors can have such a massive impact particularly the silence, embarrassment, shame and judgement that can come with feeling like you weren’t properly protected or supported,” she said. She added that she hoped speaking about her experience would encourage other women who may be experiencing abusive relationships to find their strength and seek a way forward.

“It’s okay to simply put one foot in front of the other. You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin moving forward,” she said.

Macedo has now published a three-part video series responding to the allegations and presenting his version of events. He maintains that the allegations do not provide the full context of the relationship and has disputed several of the claims made by the mother of his child. He has also said that he has cut off contact with her except where communication is required in relation to legal matters and the courts.

The images, screenshots and medical documentation shared by the woman provide material which she says supports her account, but they do not independently establish every allegation made. Likewise, Macedo's responses represent his account of the events and do not independently disprove the allegations.

Neither account should therefore be treated as an established finding of fact unless supported by independent evidence or an official finding.
