The world premiere of Jay Z produced the film; "The Harder they fall" at the BFI London Film Festival became one of London hottest ticket events on Wednesday night; boasting big-name attendees such as Idris Elba,Jay Z, ex "Bridgerton" star Rege-Jean Page and a host of other well-known celebrities
The movie, whose cast also includes "Joker" actress Zazie Beetz and Oscar nominee LaKeith Stanfield, is inspired by real-life African American cowboys.
Elba, who was joined on the red carpet by his co-stars as well as rapper Jay-Z, plays crime boss Rufus Buck, a role he described as "completely different" to his stereotypical roles.
"I was like to try and give a spectrum to the fans, so people see me in different roles," he said. "This is a bad guy and it's in a Western and I love Westerns.
Elba was also accompanied by his daughter, Isan and wife, Sabrina.
"It feels amazing 'The Harder They Fall' lived in my head for so long ever since I was a child," director Jeymes Samuel told Reuters.
"The characters in it are all real characters. The story is fictional. I assembled them all in one place, one time, like the Avengers", he added.
"The Harder They Fall" will get a limited theatrical release on Oct. 22 before heading to Netflix on Nov. 3.
