New information continues to surface following the devastating death of rapper Stefflon Don’s brother, Pey, amid reports that a shooting occurred at a residence in Rotterdam, South Holland. Authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind the incident, leaving many questions unanswered. On Monday, the 33-year-old artist turned to social media to share the heartbreaking news with her four million followers. Posting photos from Pey’s hospital room during his final days, along with a childhood picture of the pair, she paid tribute to her “beautiful” brother.
“Same mum, same dad… I love you brother,” she wrote. “You’re so handsome, even though you never believed it. I love you soooo much, Pey—you have no idea.”
Stefflon Don’s mother, Mariah, reposted her daughter’s message on Instagram and added her own emotional tribute as she struggled to come to terms with the loss.
“Grand rising people, I can’t believe my worst nightmare has come to pass,” she wrote. “My beautiful son Pey died today. God will give me the strength to get through this. Love my son—words can’t explain.” She ended the message with heartfelt emojis, later adding: “Rest up, my son.”
Another post from Stefflon Don expressed the depth of their bond:
“I love you so much, my beautiful brother Pey… I’m so grateful to be your sister. You’re my big brother, but you often felt like my son. Please don’t forget me, okay?”
Their sister Shamar also opened up about her grief, writing:
“Sigh… I’m so sorry this happened to you, brother. I love you so much. I’ve never felt pain like this. It will always be seven full siblings, I promise.”
She expressed regret over not being closer before his passing, adding:
“I had hope. I prayed for you with my whole church. I begged God for a miracle. I’m so sorry. I’ve been reading our messages over and over. You always asked about my music, and I promise I’ll make you proud.”

Under Stefflon Don’s announcement, the comments section was filled with heartfelt messages from fans, loved ones, and fellow celebrities.
Dancehall star Sean Paul wrote: “R.I.P. Blessings to you and your family, Stef.”
Reality TV personality Lateysha Grace added: “Stef, I’m so, so sorry. My heart genuinely breaks for you. Sending all my love and prayers to you and the family.”

Born in Birmingham to a Jamaican family, Stefflon Don spent part of her childhood in the Netherlands before moving to London. Reflecting on her multicultural upbringing in a previous BBC interview, she once shared: “I was raised to be part of multiple cultures, and when I’m around different communities, it takes me back to my childhood.”
