Residents, imagine queuing from 3AM just for Primark 😭🛍️
That is exactly what happened in New York City as hundreds of shoppers packed the streets outside Herald Square ahead of the opening of Primark’s brand new Manhattan flagship store.
Some eager shoppers reportedly arrived as early as 3AM on Friday morning, with huge crowds forming before the doors even opened. By the time the ribbon cutting ceremony began, over 3,000 people had lined the sidewalks hoping to be among the first inside.
The Dublin founded retailer has built its reputation on affordable fashion, beauty products, accessories and homeware, becoming especially popular among shoppers looking for trendy pieces without luxury price tags.

Speaking at the launch, Primark CEO Eoin Tonge told crowds the brand was there to provide “serious style, great quality and unbelievable prices.”
One shopper who queued overnight said the prices were “insane,” adding that she was most excited to grab whatever was on sale, while praising the store’s jewellery and handbags for their quality despite the low prices.
While Primark is still growing across the United States, the retailer has long been a staple of life in the UK and Ireland.
The brand has built a cult following across the UK thanks to its affordable fashion, viral dupes and budget friendly home collections, especially during the cost of living crisis where many shoppers have leaned towards cheaper alternatives on the high street.
