Rochelle Humes recently revealed that she is working on a documentary that will investigate why black women are four times more likely to die than their white counterparts during childbirth.
In a grid post on her Instagram, the singer and TV presenter wrote: "Hey gang...I'm currently making an investigative documentary, looking behind the shocking statistics that in the UK, black women die during pregnancy, childbirth, and shortly after - at a rate of more than four times that of white women".
She added that she had met with a number of incredibly brave women that she was working with on her investigation. She further acknowledges that it was a deep and sensitive issue, but she thought it important to give a voice to the families that had lost their loved ones in that nature.
Rochelle Humes revealed that she'd work in conjunction with a few other women to make this documentary. Beginning her entertainment career as a member of S Club Juniors and pop group The Saturdays, Rochelle is now a critically-acclaimed host and presenter with stints on Heart FM, ITV's This Morning and more.Rochelle hopes that her new documentary will help put a spotlight on this disparity and hopefully bring these shocking rates down.
