England footballer Raheem Sterling has admitted dangerously driving a Lamborghini on several roads before crashing on the M3 in May.

The 31 year old pleaded guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Tuesday to driving a Lamborghini Urus dangerously on the M25, M3, A327 and Minley Road before the single vehicle collision on May 28.

Sterling also admitted possessing six nitrous oxide cannisters for wrongful inhalation, which is a Class C drug offence, as well as failing to provide a specimen.

The former England international attended court wearing a black suit jacket, black trousers, black shoes and a dark top.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary previously confirmed that the charges followed a single vehicle collision on the M3 southbound, near the Minley interchange, on May 28.

Police said no other vehicles were involved in the crash and no injuries were reported.

Sterling's court appearance comes as the footballer continues his career after a lengthy spell at the highest level of English football, having represented clubs including Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.
