MOTHER OF DAPPY’S DAUGHTER ACCUSES HIM OF FAILING TO SUPPORT CHILD AND ALLEGED TAX FRAUD

Imani Campbell has taken to social media to detail her frustrations as the mother of Dappy’s daughter, describing years of feeling unsupported and let down.

She began by voicing what she says many mothers experience, stating,

“As mums we put our kids first and I feel like a lot of dads fail to do this. The hate for your baby's mother, for your child's mother should not be more than the love that you have for your child, right? Spiting the mother of your child should not be more important than making sure that your child lives a great life, right?”

Throughout her video, Campbell explained that she has been solely responsible for raising their daughter, alleging that despite Dappy’s success, he refuses to contribute meaningfully. She said he presents himself as a high earning, high spending artist, yet provides only a minimal weekly amount for their child. She shared examples of him prioritising luxury purchases and social outings while she manages every aspect of their daughter’s care.

She also referenced wider conversations online about accountability and social responsibility, quoting a separate example used in public discussions:

“Children have been raped and rather than people just focussing on the fact that these children have been raped, they’re talking about the islamophobia, racism, and all of this. Using the example that white men rape in this country is like saying, ‘oh my gosh, Nigerians are raping so much in Nigeria.’”

Campbell went on to highlight the financial imbalance she says she faces, stating,

“My child's father is a big earner, big spender, has all the chains, makes a lot of money. He doesn't have her any nights of the week, he doesn't look after her, he doesn't pick her up when she needs to be picked up, he doesn't do anything for her. I do everything, I pay all the bills, I pay for all the school trips, I pay for absolutely everything.”

She claimed she has no family support and manages everything alone, despite living only minutes from Dappy. She added that he allegedly blocked their daughter’s number after she used it to contact him, leaving the child to handle communication herself, something Campbell strongly opposes.

“He expects my daughter to make her own arrangements which I don't think is fair. I feel like she should concentrate on being a child.”

Addressing his spending habits, Campbell said,

“I just feel like I needed to get this out, um, and we need to really understand who we're supporting because this is f*cking disgraceful and I feel like men need to hold each other accountable. You can't be wearing jewellery, you can't be spending six grand every couple months on filler and Botox.”

She also accused him of significantly downplaying his income to avoid tax obligations.

“He says that he doesn't want to pay for my lifestyle and that I only deserve £15 a week to look after our child, yeah? Meanwhile he's selling out The O2 arenas and people are paying him big money. Let's not even talk about the tax fraud that's going on because how are you saying that you're earning seven and a half grand a year? Let's not even get into the tax fraud.”

Speaking on her daughter’s future and the contrast between her own upbringing and Dappy’s, Campbell said,

“My daughter is 10 years old, she's gonna understand absolutely everything and I just feel like it's so heartbreaking because I never grew up with a dad. He grew up with a dad, his dad pushed him into his career, helped him throughout his career, his dad done absolutely everything for him, his mum has done absolutely everything for him. She'll still come now and f*cking clean his house for him and cook him dinners if she asked, if he asked her.”

Imani Campbell is the former partner of Dappy and the mother of their daughter, who is now 10. Their relationship has been largely private, although Campbell has hinted in the past at difficulties behind the scenes. Her recent video marks the first time she has publicly shared the full extent of her concerns, alleging long term neglect and emotional distance from the artist.

Campbell’s video has reignited public debate about financially and emotionally absent parents, particularly fathers. Many online users argued that the issue goes beyond celebrity culture, reflecting the experiences of countless single mothers who feel forced to shoulder the full burden of parenting.

Her comments echo frustrations frequently voiced by women who feel unsupported by former partners despite those partners having the means to contribute more. Others argue that social media has become the last resort for parents who feel they have exhausted private options.

The video sparked a divided reaction, with thousands weighing in. One person commented,

“Wow this is terrible. Let this be a lesson that even if you have a baby with a ‘rich’ guy, it doesn’t mean he has a good heart. Someone could earn 40K annually and give so much more.”

Another wrote,

“I personally don’t think that she is wrong for baiting out this man because at the end of the day he’s a big old millionaire so pay for your child.”

A more critical comment read,

“So telling HMRC wasn’t enough? Now you’re outing his business on the net! Knowing tax evasion is a criminal offence, what are you trying to achieve here? How does this help your daughter? This generation of baby mums are very destructive I’ll be real.”

Someone else added,

“Why you coming online? Go to court for justice, coming on social media, you’re asking for drama.”

The discussion continues to divide opinion. Some believe social media exposure is a necessary tool when private conversations fail, arguing it forces accountability and prevents powerful individuals from avoiding scrutiny. Others insist that issues involving children should be kept offline, criticising public call outs as reckless and branding some women as clout chasers who should instead pursue legal routes.

As of now, neither Dappy nor anyone from his team has responded to Campbell’s claims.
