GK Barry has shared her thoughts on the ever-growing world of “Disney Adults”, and it appears she won’t be booking a child-free trip to see Mickey Mouse anytime soon.

The podcaster and television personality questioned why some adults choose to repeatedly visit Disney theme parks without having children with them, admitting that the appeal simply doesn’t make sense to her.

“It’s the adults that go back to back,”

Grace said, making it clear she wasn’t referring to parents taking their children.

“If I’m booking a holiday I’ll probably just go Greece.”

She also joked about one of the biggest parts of the Disney experience, adding:

“I’m not gonna queue up for two hours to meet a bloke in a Mickey Mouse costume.”

“I’m not talking about people with children,”

She clarified, with her confusion instead aimed at adults who make regular trips to the parks entirely by choice.

Grace’s comments have tapped into a conversation that has grown increasingly familiar online, with the term “Disney Adult” commonly used to describe grown-up fans whose love of Disney extends well beyond childhood.

For some fans, that can mean regularly visiting the theme parks, collecting merchandise, celebrating special occasions at Disney resorts or simply choosing to spend their holidays immersed in the company’s characters and attractions.

While there is no official figure establishing how many Disney Adults visit the parks without children, Disney’s own offering demonstrates that adults are a significant part of its audience. Disneyland Paris currently offers Disneyland Passes specifically for adults, with certain passes providing access to the parks on hundreds of days each year, as well as discounts on shops and restaurants.

The experience itself is also not exclusively designed around children. Disneyland Paris promotes attractions, shows, character encounters and themed restaurants for guests of all ages, while some of its hotels offer facilities such as saunas and steam rooms that are specifically restricted to adults.

Disney’s wider resorts similarly offer experiences that can appeal to grown-up visitors. At Walt Disney World, for example, Disney promotes dining and entertainment options, while its BoardWalk includes restaurants, shops, live entertainment and nightlife

Character experiences are another major part of the Disney holiday, with Disney Parks offering character dining and opportunities to meet Disney characters at parks and resorts. Disneyland Paris also currently advertises character encounters involving Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters.

That helps explain why the idea of visiting Disney without children has become a subject of fascination and debate. For some adults, the appeal lies in nostalgia, while others enjoy the attractions, entertainment, food and immersive environments in their own right.

There is also a growing distinction between visiting Disney as a parent and visiting specifically as an adult fan. Someone taking their children to a theme park may be there primarily for their family, whereas a self-described Disney Adult might plan their own holidays around the parks and return regularly because they genuinely enjoy the experience.

Disneyland Paris even offers adult Disneyland Pass options that can provide repeated access throughout the year, demonstrating that adults travelling without children are very much accommodated within the resort’s wider offering.

However, for Grace, it seems the attraction of spending a holiday repeatedly at a Disney theme park does not quite compare with a more traditional getaway.

With her joking preference for Greece and her reluctance to spend hours queuing to meet Mickey Mouse, it appears that, when it comes to choosing between a Disney holiday and a beach break, the former Love Island star and podcaster knows exactly where she stands.
