Maya Jama has directly addressed speculation that she and her ex-boyfriend, Stormzy have rekindled their relationship.

Rumours began circulating after the Love Island presenter shared a video on social media of herself singing along to Stormzy's song “One Second” while sitting in a car. Fans also noticed that Jama and Stormzy appeared to be following each other on Instagram again.

The combination of the video and the social-media activity quickly led to speculation that the former couple could be giving their relationship another chance. However, Jama was quick to put the rumours to rest. Responding to a post discussing the speculation on X, she wrote:

“🤣🤣 I like the song. We have always been friends. No one is back together, rest with the theories ❤️🙏🏽.”

Her response makes clear that, despite their history, Jama does not consider the recent social-media activity to be a sign of a romantic reunion. She explained that she simply likes the song and reiterated that she and Stormzy have remained friends.

The speculation comes after the pair's relationship has already gone through several chapters.

Jama and Stormzy first began dating in 2015 before splitting in 2019. They later rekindled their relationship in 2023, after being spotted together in Greece, but announced another separation in July 2024.

Jama has previously spoken positively about remaining friends with Stormzy. In a 2025 interview with The Guardian, she described their relationship as being in a “friendship zone” and ruled out the possibility of another romantic chapter at that time.

The latest rumours therefore appear to have been sparked by fans reading into a social-media post and a change in Instagram activity, rather than by an announcement from either party. For now, Jama's own comments are the clearest indication of their current relationship status: she says they are friends and that they are not back together.
