MAN ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGED SEXUAL ASSAULT AT GUNNA CONCERT AT THE O2 ARENA

MAN ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGED SEXUAL ASSAULT AT GUNNA CONCERT AT THE O2 ARENA

A man has been arrested following an alleged sexual assault at a concert by Gunna at The O2 Arena in London.

According to the Metropolitan Police, officers were called to the venue in North Greenwich at around 20:20 on Wednesday evening after reports of an incident involving a woman in her 20s.

Police say the woman was approached from behind by a 26 year old man during the event. Venue staff quickly intervened and detained the suspect before officers arrived at the scene.

The man was then arrested at the venue and remains in police custody while investigations continue.

The victim is currently being supported by specially trained officers, the Metropolitan Police confirmed. The force also said it is continuing to prioritise women’s safety at large events by working closely with venues and providing staff training to help identify and respond to incidents quickly.

A spokesperson for The O2 said security staff and police responded promptly once the situation was reported.

The investigation remains ongoing - however horrible videos were shared on social media by the victim, which showcased the incident to a much clearer extent, these have now since been deleted in efforts to maintain a strong police investigation and not to hinder her case.
