A drug deal who supplied pills to Mac Miller has been jailed for nearly 11 years
A drug dealer that supplied rapper Mac Miller with fentanyl-laced pills has been jailed for nearly 11 years.Mac Miller died of anaccidental overdose, from a combination of fentanyl, alcohol and cocaine in 2018. He was 26-year-old. Ryan Reavis - one of the three men charged for Mac's death - pleaded guilty to one count of distributing fentanyl in November. His attorney reportedly claimed that Ryan didn't know the pills contained fentanyl, which is 50 times stronger than heroin.Ryan, 38, has been sentenced to 10 years and 11 months in prison.
He will also be supervised for three years once he's released. During his 2019 arrest, officers reportedly found firearms, marijuana, drugs including prescription-only pills and a fake doctor's notepad of prescriptions.Sky News reports that the prosecutors claim Ryan was ordered by a man called Stephen Andrew Walter to deliver the pills to Cameron James Pettit, who allegedly sold them to Mac. The trial outcomes for Stephen and Cameron are yet to come.
According to TMZ, Mac's mother Karen Meyers's court statement read: "He would never knowingly take a pill with fentanyl, ever. He wanted to live and was excited about the future. The hole in my heart will always be there."Three days before he died, Mac allegedly sent a text to a man called Pettit, requesting cocaine, Xanax and 10 blue pills that appeared to be oxycodone. However, the blue pills were counterfeit and contained fentanyl.Mac had opened up about his battle with depression and addiction in his music.
