Big Brother UK housemate Omar has received a warning over his behaviour towards fellow contestant Rhianna, following widespread criticism and thousands of complaints to broadcasting regulator Ofcom.
During Wednesday night's episode (21 October), Omar was called into the Diary Room, where Big Brother addressed concerns surrounding his language and treatment of other housemates.
The intervention followed several uncomfortable exchanges between Omar and Rhianna, whose developing relationship in the house has become a major talking point among viewers.
In recent episodes, Omar has faced accusations of controlling and emotionally manipulative behaviour, with viewers expressing concern over the way he speaks to Rhianna and responds to her emotions.
Addressing Omar in the Diary Room, Big Brother warned him about the impact his behaviour could have on both his fellow housemates and the viewing public, urging him to consider how his words and actions may affect others.
However, Omar appeared unconvinced by the criticism, defending his intentions and insisting that he had done nothing but support Rhianna.
"I didn't walk in with any bad intentions or any malice," he stated.
"I've done nothing but look out for her. I've done nothing but accommodate and reassure her," he continued, maintaining that his actions had been motivated by care rather than malice.
His response sparked further backlash online, with viewers accusing him of dismissing Big Brother's concerns in much the same way they believe he has dismissed Rhianna's feelings.
One Resident commented, "Dismissed what big brother said as well. He needs to be removed."
Another wrote, "LOOOOL not him gaslighting BIG BROTHER as well. It’s just HIM as a whole human😭😭😭😭 he has no percentage of accountability in him boyyyyy"
Others doubled down on their criticism of Omar's behaviour, arguing that his response demonstrated an unwillingness to acknowledge the impact of his actions, despite being directly confronted by Big Brother.

The controversy has also extended beyond social media, with Ofcom reportedly receiving more than 7,000 complaints concerning Omar's behaviour during the 19 October episode.
The volume of complaints reflects growing concern among viewers, many of whom have questioned whether the programme has done enough to address his conduct.
While Big Brother has now intervened, calls for Omar's removal have continued, with some viewers arguing that a warning alone is insufficient given the behaviour witnessed throughout the series.
