Leigh-Anne Pinnock made a memorable appearance at London Fashion Week on Monday, September 21, as she walked the runway for Greek designer Dimitra Petsa’s Di Petsa show while pregnant with her third child.

The former Little Mix star proudly displayed her growing baby bump in a white ensemble before becoming part of the show’s dramatic finale, which saw milk-like liquid spray from her specially designed bra and onto models gathered around her.

The unusual moment formed part of Di Petsa’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, titled “Holy Milk”, which centred heavily around motherhood, pregnancy, the female body and transformation.

Rather than being a conventional catwalk presentation, the show incorporated elements of performance art, with mothers, babies and pregnant models appearing throughout the presentation. For the finale, Pinnock stood at the centre of a group of models before the liquid began spraying from concealed mechanisms within her sculptural bra. The liquid was designed as a representation of breast milk, rather than being presented as actual breast milk, with the spectacle intended to reinforce the collection’s focus on motherhood and nurturing.

The moment attracted immediate attention from those watching the show, with Pinnock's appearance becoming one of the most talked-about moments from this season's London Fashion Week.

Pinnock had teased that something significant was coming ahead of the show, telling followers that she was about to “check something very special off the bucket list”.

Following her appearance, she described the experience as one of the most empowering moments she had experienced. Speaking after the show, Pinnock said:

“When the milk came out, I was like: ‘Yes!’ I think the way that this show just celebrated motherhood and nurturement was just something so beautiful.”

She also explained why being part of a fashion presentation centred around pregnancy was particularly meaningful to her, saying:

“And sometimes I feel like we shy away. When we’re pregnant, it’s not really something that’s celebrated in fashion. So to be able to be a part of a show as special as this is amazing. Incredible.”

The singer has been open about wanting to embrace her pregnancy during this stage of her life, rather than feeling the need to hide her changing body.

Her appearance at Di Petsa therefore allowed her pregnancy to become part of the fashion itself, with her baby bump deliberately incorporated into the look and the wider performance. The designer’s collection explored motherhood as more than simply giving birth, with Petsa describing the concept as being about transformation and the different versions of ourselves that can emerge throughout life.

“We are pregnant with our own self,” Petsa said, explaining the thinking behind the collection. “We give birth to different versions of ourselves when we grow too large inside us to be hidden and then again will be reborn.”

The wider collection continued Di Petsa’s signature approach to the female form, featuring its recognisable wet-look designs alongside sheer fabrics, sculptural pieces and flowing silhouettes.

The London-based brand, founded by Petsa in 2019, is particularly known for its wet-look dresses, which create the appearance of fabric clinging to a body covered in water. Its designs have previously been worn by stars including Bella Hadid, FKA Twigs, Lizzo, Doja Cat and SZA. However, this season saw Petsa place motherhood more directly at the centre of the show, with babies appearing on the runway alongside pregnant models and other performers.

For Pinnock, the timing of the show also made the appearance especially personal. She announced in July that she was expecting her third child with her husband, footballer Andre Gray, sharing a video of her growing bump and writing: “As one chapter ends, another begins.”

Pinnock and Gray are already parents to twin daughters, who were born in 2021. The couple married in Jamaica in 2023 after becoming engaged during the Covid-19 pandemic. The pair have generally kept their children's identities private, with Pinnock previously discussing her desire to allow her children to decide for themselves whether they want a public presence when they are older.

While Pinnock's runway appearance was widely praised for its celebration of pregnancy and motherhood, the unusual finale also prompted mixed reactions online, with some viewers questioning the decision to portray breast milk in such a dramatic way. One person commented:

“This is disappointing.”

Another wrote:

“Not everything should be accepted! This is crazy!”

A third questioned the reaction to breastfeeding and said:

“Why is everyone obsessed with turning breastfeeding into something sexual..?”

The online response has added another layer to what was clearly intended by the designer as a conversation around motherhood, the female body and the ways pregnancy is represented in fashion.

Pinnock, however, appeared enthusiastic about the performance and the message behind the collection, particularly its decision to place pregnancy and motherhood at the centre of a major fashion show.

For the singer, who is currently preparing to welcome her third child, the runway moment represented more than simply another fashion appearance. It gave her an opportunity to embrace her changing body publicly and take part in a show that directly explored the experience of motherhood.
