UK rapper Krept—one half of the hip hop duo Krept and Konan—recently had the internet laughing after sharing a parenting moment involving his daughter, Nala, that quickly spiraled into a misunderstanding at school. Like many young children, Nala told a story that, without context, sounded far more serious than it actually was—prompting concern from her teachers and a call home.

On Snapchat, Krept wrote: “Kids will get you into trouble I swear. Nala told her teachers ‘daddy took my teeth out with a bullet’. NO CONTEXT NOTHING. Now the school calling me like im ‘whipping her on the weekends.’ I had to tell them it was a NURF  they said oooooo sorry she provided no context we had to check. Bruh these damn kids.”

In reality, there was no cause for alarm—just a classic case of a child describing something in the most dramatic way possible. Krept later clarified that Nala was referring to a harmless Nerf toy, not anything dangerous. The school, acting responsibly, followed up due to the concerning phrasing. Once clarified, the situation quickly turned from serious to hilarious.

The story struck a chord with parents everywhere, who flooded the TSB comments with their own examples of kids saying wildly misleading things:

“My daughter said I gave her ‘free alcohol’… but the drink was ‘alcohol free’ smh,” one of our Residents wrote.

“Son told nursery he was watching ‘willy on the telly with daddy’ that time he meant Free Willy the whale and he was watching ‘willy on the telly with daddy’ that time he meant free willy the whale,” a second added.

“My daughter told the school Granma feed her cat food it was corn beef and rice,” a third chimed in.

“My nephew told his mum i locked him in a dark room. these times it was bed time,” a fourth joked.
