In a significant development in their ongoing custody dispute, rapper and YouTuber DDG has filed an emergency court motion to prevent ex-partner Halle Bailey from taking their 17-month-old son, Halo, on an international trip. Citing concerns over Bailey's mental stability and potential risks to their child, DDG seeks legal intervention to halt the planned travel to Italy.
On 4 June, DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., submitted a legal request to a Los Angeles court aiming to restrict Bailey from travelling internationally with their son. The motion specifically targets a proposed vacation to Italy, which DDG argues could pose emotional and psychological risks to the child.
In addition to the travel restriction, DDG is seeking a domestic violence restraining order against Bailey. He alleges that she has made repeated threats of self-harm and has exhibited behaviour that could endanger both herself and their son. One incident highlighted in the court documents involves Bailey allegedly taking DDG's firearm during a domestic dispute.
This legal action follows a previous court decision in May 2025, where Bailey was granted temporary physical and legal custody of Halo. The court had also issued a restraining order requiring DDG to maintain a distance of over 100 yards from both Bailey and their son. That order expired on the same day as the new filing.
Bailey has responded by requesting the court to deny DDG visitation rights or to limit them to supervised sessions. She has also sought restrictions on DDG taking their son outside Los Angeles County.
As the court reviews the latest filings, both parties await a decision that will impact their parental rights and the future well-being of their child.
