American singer and actress Halle Bailey has been granted a restraining order against her rapper and streamer ex-boyfriend DDG over alleged abuse.
According to documents filed on Tuesday in L.A., Bailey filed a police report requesting court-ordered protection for her and her 1-year-old son, Halo, whom she shares with DDG. This was on the grounds that DDG had been repeatedly violent with her, causing her to fear for the safety of herself and their child.
DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr, has been ordered to stay away from Halle and Halo until a hearing on 6 June. The documents requesting the order stated that DDG "has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive" towards Halle throughout their relationship.
Halle also said: "I am seeking orders to protect myself and our son Halo from his ongoing abuse." Images obtained by TMZ showed Halle with a chipped tooth and bruises on her arm. In the obtained documents, Halle claims "things got physical" in January after DDG began insulting her as she strapped Halo into the car seat in DDG's car.
She said: "We fought each other, wrestling and tussling," she said. "At one point, Darryl was pulling my hair. He then slammed my face on the steering wheel, causing my tooth to get chipped. I then stopped fighting back as I was in a lot of pain."
Halle then alleges DDG gained ungranted access to her home two months later when she was not home. He allegedly texted her a picture of her bed along with a message implying she had been intimate with another man.
She then claims that merely days later, DDG kicked off when Halle did not want to send out a poorly Halo on a visit with him. Halle claims DDG then smashed her Ring doorbell upon realising it had recorded their altercation. The report also recounts an occasion where Halle had called a relative for help, resulting in DDG snatching her phone and slamming the car door on her as she held Halo.
The court order also requests that DDG not mention Halle or Halo on his social media platforms, with Halle stating: "He claims I am withholding our son and that I am with other men. As a result, I then receive threats and hate on social media."
The pair began dating in 2022, however, they cut ties last year.
DDG has publicly slammed Halle regarding their custody agreement, often accusing Halle of not allowing him to see his son. The rapper and streamer viewed the news of the restraining order live on a stream with friend and fellow streamer Adin Ross.
