Paige, the nail tech known online as @Embellished4L, posted a video to TikTok claiming that a client set her up to get physically and verbally assaulted after refusing to pay for her service. According to Paige the client had been difficult throughout the five hour appointment, constantly requesting last minute changes to the style before pulling out her phone to record. In her TikTok, she explains that this prompted her to also record on her phone in a preemptive attempt to protect herself and her business from online scrutiny. The pair continue to disagree before the client allegedly flees the appointment without paying the £55 balance for the service.
Paige says she was confronted outside her studio the next day by the client's brother claiming that his sister’s phone was stolen by the nail tech following their disagreement. In an attempt to leave, she alleges that her cab was ambushed by another vehicle where she was then physically attacked and robbed by the client before being threatened by the brother that he will “stab or shoot” her if the phone is not returned in two days.
Days later the client, known as Royaltee, responded on TikTok with her version of the altercation, claiming she was attacked by Paige and her family members following their heated argument in the studio. In CCTV footage posted on her social media, Royaltee is seen outside the East London building accompanied by two of Paige’s neighbours before a car pulls up. Within seconds three women exit the vehicle and swarm Royaltee, before Paige emerges from the building and joins in the assault.
The video shows the client being punched to the ground by Paige, before the assailants pinned her down so her nails could be forcefully clipped off. Royaltee claims that the attackers attempted to clean the blood from her face before police arrived, allegedly in an effort to cover their tracks. She posted pictures of her clipped off nails, alongside her injuries from the attack to support her story and clear her name.
The incident has drawn the attention of Homerton Police, who have been made aware of the situation however no formal statement has yet been released.
Online, this case has sparked widespread debate about the safety of independent beauty service providers and clients, with many users questioning whether ID verification should be implemented into booking protocols.
What began as a routine nail appointment has now become a cautionary tale about boundaries, mistrust and the dangerous extremes of social media-fueled confrontation.
