CHIDERA EGGERUE A.K.A SLUMFLOWER SAYS SHE IS A DOMINATRIX: "WHITE MEN LOVE BLACK WOMEN BEATING THEM...AND THEY PAY"

Influencer and author Chidera Eggerue, widely known as Slumflower, has sparked conversation online after revealing she works as a dominatrix as a side hustle, claiming that many of her clients are white men who specifically seek out Black women to dominate them, and are willing to pay for the experience.

Speaking on the The Gracefully Said Podcast, Eggerue framed the work as more than transactional. She described it as a “political stance,” explaining that the dynamic offers a form of mental arousal rooted in power reversal; where control, historically denied, is reclaimed. The moment left host Grace Ajilore visibly stunned, responding candidly: “you’re really dealing with them.”

Eggerue went on to say that the experience allows her to tap into her Nigerian roots in a way that feels embodied rather than abstract.

Online, reactions have been mixed but animated. Some commenters leaned into humour, jokingly asking for “connections” into the industry or framing it as an unconventional but effective response to the cost of living crisis. Others went further, calling it a form of “reparations,” while a separate group questioned the framing altogether, pushing back on whether empowerment narratives can comfortably sit alongside fetishisation.

Whether viewed as empowerment, performance, or simply a means to an end, Eggerue’s comments have opened up a layered discussion that sits somewhere between intimacy, economics, and cultural politics.
