Blac Chyna has lost the defamation case against four members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
Blac Chyna had claimed that the four defendants - Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Khloe Kardashian - convinced TV Bosses to cancel her reality show, Rob & Chyna.Rob & Chyna first aired in 2016 on the E! network and followed the celebrity pair as they prepared for the birth of their daughter, Dream. The show ran for one season before being cancelled. Chyna claims that this is due to Rob Kardashian's family making false claims to TV bosses that she had violently attacked him.Although a jury found that the Kardashian's had acted in "bad faith", they decided that none of them had actually defamed Chyna.
The four defendants all took to the stand at various points during the nine-day trial that took place at the Los Angeles Superior Courthouse. The family came out victorious with no damages awarded however the case was reported to be worth $100 million (£79.9 million). The verdict of the trial was read out whilst the celebrity family were in New York for the 2022 Met gala where Kim Kardashian wore the iconic Marilyn Monroe dress worn when she sang happy birthday to US President Kennedy.
Although the Jury found that the Kardashian-Jenner clan were not justified in reporting to the show's producers regarding the allegations of abuse by Chyna towards Rob, the jury concluded that this did not actually have any effect on Chyna's contract or the show not being renewed. Therefore, no damages were awarded. The court saw executives of the E! network testify that Rob & Chyna ended because the relationship between the two came to an end and not because of any action taken by the Kardashian-Jenner family.
