SOCIAL MEDIA USERS DEBATE WHETHER FATHER IN VIRAL VIDEO WENT TOO FAR IN HIS RESPONSE TO CATCHING DAUGHTER WITH HER MAN

Social media users have been debating the appropriateness of a father's actions after a shocking video went viral of a man scolding his daughter and her young lover after catching the pair getting touchy-feely in public.

The video shows a young couple at a bus stop kissing and cuddling, with the young man cheekily placing his hands on the young lady's bum.

However, things quickly took a turn when the girl's dad pulled up to the bus stop in his car with all guns blazing.

The dad can audibly be heard shouting at the couple, before specifically targeting the young man and threatening to "f*ck" him if he ever saw him near his daughter again.

He then forcibly shoves his daughter into the car before continuing to berate the young man.

Although the young man does not appear to fight back, the girl's dad continues to put him on blast, even slapping him across the face.

Another young man attempted to intervene by breaking up the altercation, although it is unclear who the bystander was known to.

The lack of context or backstory behind the video hasn't stopped social media users from debating the father's actions, showing a clear divide in the standards or parenting.

Many users condemned the father for his actions and criticised his use of violence on the young man, insisting that his daughter is responsible for her actions.

However, other users applauded the dad for defending the innocence of his child.
