MAMA DRAMA PODCAST HOSTS OPEN UP ABOUT FEELING TURNED ON WHEN BREASTFEEDING

The hosts of the Mama Drama Podcast, Shellz and Leesh, have come under fire online after a candid discussion about breastfeeding left many social media users shocked and divided. During the episode, the pair opened up about their personal experiences with breastfeeding and the physical sensations involved, with some of their comments quickly going viral across Instagram and TikTok.

Leesh began the conversation by saying: “You know what, when you’re breastfeeding, it was that notion of trying not to get turned on by the fact that your child is sucking your nipple.”

As Shellz attempted to respond, Leesh continued: “Because that is a…” while appearing to imitate an orgasmic reaction.

Shellz then agreed, saying: “It’s a little bit orgasmic. I’m going to say it, I don’t care. Because I was a little bit excited for him to… you shouldn’t say these things. I’m not a paedophile. I’m just saying we’re just keeping it a buck.”

She continued: “I’m telling you, when they first… not in the hospital, when you get home and you get used to it, and it’s just the little let-down when the milk goes slower, that release felt good. It’s crazy, that oxytocin.”

Leesh then added: “When they’re sucking it, you can feel it in your pum pum.”

Shellz replied: “You might feel a little throb. It goes through the body and up in the belly. God’s creation, you know God is wonderful.”

The clip quickly sparked intense debate online, with many viewers criticising the language used to describe breastfeeding and arguing that the experience should not be framed in a sexual way.

One Resident wrote on our Instagram page: “Many mamas in these comments can agree that THIS is NOT the feeling at all. Your brain chemistry literally knows the difference between nourishing your child and a sexual act. Because then you would now be feeding the child for sexual gratification, which is absolutely concerning. These two are very scary.”

Another commented: “The feeling they are describing is the uterus contracting back into place. Nipple stimulation releases oxytocin — the love hormone. Yes, it’s a positive feeling, but it’s not sexual. It’s natural and helps bonding with your child. Describing it as sexual is weird.”

A third person questioned why the conversation was made public at all, writing: “Why can’t certain conversations be had without a recording device?”

Others also pointed out that breastfeeding can often be physically painful rather than pleasurable, particularly in the early weeks after birth.

“Let’s not even talk about the chapped nipples and the contractions women get while nursing in the first few weeks,” another user wrote. “It’s literally painful.”

Medical experts have long explained that breastfeeding triggers the release of oxytocin, a hormone associated with bonding, emotional connection and relaxation. Oxytocin also helps stimulate the “let-down reflex,” which allows milk to flow during feeding.

At the same time, breastfeeding can cause uterine contractions as the body works to return the uterus to its pre-pregnancy size. Some women describe sensations of warmth, tingling or physical relief during feeding due to hormonal changes and nerve stimulation.

However, specialists note that these biological responses are linked to nurturing and maternal bonding rather than sexual arousal, despite occasional overlap in the body’s hormonal pathways.
