Former Love Island contestants Lucie Donlan and Luke Mabbott have officially tied the knot, celebrating their marriage with an intimate ceremony filled with joy, heartfelt moments, and plenty of happy tears in the picturesque Cornish countryside. Although the couple appeared on different seasons of the popular dating show, their relationship has stood the test of time, making them one of the few couples connected to the series to exchange wedding vows. Surrounded by around 50 of their closest friends and family members, the pair marked the occasion in a setting that perfectly reflected their laid-back personalities.
Lucie, 28, looked stunning in a flowing white wedding dress paired with a delicate veil adorned with intricate botanical and bird-inspired embroidery. Her elegant yet natural look complemented the relaxed atmosphere of the day.
For Luke, 31, one of the most memorable moments came when he watched his bride walk down the aisle to Dandelions by Ruth B. The emotional significance of the moment took him by surprise.
He admitted that although he is rarely speechless or overwhelmed by emotion, seeing Lucie approach him was one of the most meaningful experiences of his life. The emotions only intensified when the couple’s beloved rescue dog, Bunny, made a special appearance, walking down the aisle and bringing even more tears to the celebration.
Lucie revealed that witnessing Luke become emotional was particularly moving because she had never seen him cry before. She described the entire day as deeply heartfelt and memorable from beginning to end.
The couple chose Nancarrow Farm, located near Truro, as their wedding venue after hearing glowing reviews about its renowned food and welcoming atmosphere. Their ceremony took place inside a charming rustic barn surrounded by rolling fields, with seasonal wildflowers displayed in vintage milk churns, creating a warm and authentic countryside setting.
The wedding was filled with thoughtful personal details that reflected their journey together. Family members were invited to plant everlasting sweet peas, while the couple’s wedding bands featured three aquamarine stones symbolising the stars of Orion’s Belt — a meaningful reminder of the first night they met in 2020.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, the pair chose to marry on 17 June, the exact anniversary of the day they first connected. Their relationship began after Lucie reached out to Luke on social media shortly after seeing him on television.
Despite their reality TV backgrounds, the newlyweds decided against inviting former castmates to the ceremony. They explained that while they appreciate the role the show played in bringing them together, they preferred to keep the wedding private and focused on their nearest and dearest.
Breaking with tradition, Lucie and Luke also chose to spend the night before the wedding together. Rather than keeping their vows secret until the ceremony, they shared them privately in a quiet moment the evening before, reading them to each other while relaxing together.
The couple also skipped the customary first dance, opting instead for a celebration that felt more authentic to them. In front of their guests, they marked the occasion with a cider tower and cake-cutting ceremony, creating a fun and relaxed alternative to traditional wedding formalities.
The speeches brought another wave of emotion. Luke’s brother and best man, Liam, entertained guests with humorous stories and childhood memories, while Lucie’s father delivered a touching speech that left a lasting impression.
Reflecting on the moment, Lucie said hearing her father speak after escorting her down the aisle was incredibly meaningful and remains one of her most treasured memories from the day.
From sentimental traditions to personal touches and unforgettable emotional moments, Lucie and Luke’s wedding was a true reflection of their relationship — intimate, genuine, and filled with love.
