LOVE ISLAND WINNERS LORENZO AND JULIA RAISE EYEBROWS IN AWKWARD INTERVIEW

LOVE ISLAND WINNERS LORENZO AND JULIA RAISE EYEBROWS IN AWKWARD INTERVIEW

Love Island winners Lorenzo Alessi and Julia Majchrzak found themselves under scrutiny during a live TV appearance after an exchange about their relationship left viewers questioning where the couple stand. The 2026 winners appeared on Monday's edition of This Morning alongside fellow finalists Kavan and Jasmine and Simba and Angelista, where they reflected on life since leaving the villa. However, conversation quickly turned to their romance after it emerged the pair have yet to go on a date since returning to the UK. Julia also revealed that she hasn't seen Lorenzo in five days.

During the interview, presenter Josie Gibson put the spotlight on Lorenzo and Julia’s relationship, asking the newly-crowned champions about their first date since returning home.

Josie said: “It has all worked out – and I’ve got to say, there’s a lot of rumours that you’re not together. Are you together – and all this terminology, I don't understand.”

Addressing the speculation, Lorenzo replied: “As we’ve left the villa, we’re still in the same place, exclusively dating…”

Before he could continue, Julia stepped in to clarify: “Yes, we are still dating.”

Lorenzo admitted the days following the final had been hectic, explaining that it had been a “crazy few days” and that he felt “everything needs to settle down”.

He added: “Then we’re going to go on some lovely dates….”

The conversation then turned to whether the pair had exchanged the “L-word”. Both confirmed they had not yet said “I love you”, although they suggested their relationship was moving in that direction.

Lorenzo said: “Feelings are developing, it’s in the right position… so I feel like give it some time…”

However, Julia appeared eager for action rather than promises, immediately responding: “Where’s the date?”

After Julia revealed the pair hadn't seen each other in five days, Lorenzo revealed he hoped to take Julia to a rooftop bar for their first official date outside the villa. Explaining that he had been busy, despite sharing an Instagram story that he was at a Luke Combs concert last night.

Julia quickly fired back: “When?”

Later in the segment, she repeated the question, asking: “When’s my date? I'm waiting.”

Lorenzo insisted the outing required careful preparation, explaining that the date had “a lot of planning involved”. Towards the end of the interview, he joked that the pair could splash out on a £50,000 date using their prize money.

The exchange prompted plenty of reaction online, with viewers sharing their thoughts on our social media.

One of the TSB Residents wrote: “Looool Lorenzo already got his PR breakup statement ready in his notepad.” Another commented: “One thing about Julia she not going to be fake.” A third viewer said: “Sorry but Lorenzo is a joke man. Angelista and Simba should have won respectfully.”

Others questioned the strength of the winning couple’s connection, with one person writing: “She was too busy focusing on other couples to distract the public from the fact that her own couple doesn’t like her. Anyways the Uk public were gonna give her the win regardless cause they wanted to ‘humble’ a woc.”

Meanwhile, another fan appeared confused by the pair’s admission that they had not seen much of each other since the final, asking: “How did he go from spending all day with her to not seeing her for 5 days.”

Julia and Lorenzo's tv appearance comes after Lorenzo drew further scrutiny by 'liking' a number of Instagram models pictures.
