Chris Eubank Jr has shared a touching family moment with fans after posting a series of photographs featuring heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua meeting his newborn twin sons.

The images, which were taken in Dubai, show Eubank Jr and Joshua each holding one of the babies, before a second photograph captures Joshua cradling both twins in his arms.

Alongside the pictures, Eubank Jr reflected on how the moment reminded him of a story he had grown up hearing from his father, former world champion Chris Eubank Sr.

He wrote:

"My old man used to tell me the story of when Heavyweight Champ Mike Tyson picked me up & held me as a baby, in New York. One day I'll tell my sons the story of this generations Heavyweight Champ holding them in Dubai."

The post quickly resonated with boxing fans, many of whom described it as a symbolic passing of the torch between generations of the sport's biggest names.

Eubank Jr welcomed his twin sons earlier this year with his wife, making the announcement several months after revealing he had become a father. Since then, the 35 year old has largely kept his family life out of the spotlight, only occasionally sharing glimpses of his life away from the ring.

The comparison to Mike Tyson carries particular weight within boxing. Widely regarded as one of the most iconic fighters in the sport's history, Tyson became the youngest heavyweight world champion ever when he won the WBC title aged just 20 in 1986. Over the course of his career, Joshua has held the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight world titles, establishing himself as one of the defining heavyweight boxers of the modern era.
