Rockstar Games has officially revealed the pre-order date for Grand Theft Auto 6, giving fans another major milestone to look forward to ahead of the game's release later this year.
The developer confirmed that pre-orders for GTA 6 will open on 25 June across digital platforms, including the PlayStation Store, as well as selected retailers. The announcement arrives after years of speculation surrounding the next instalment in one of gaming's most successful and influential franchises.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently scheduled to launch on 19 November for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The release date follows multiple delays, with the title previously expected to arrive in autumn 2025 before being pushed back again.
The game's predecessor, GTA 5, launched in 2013 and remains one of the most successful video games ever released. More than a decade later, anticipation for its successor continues to dominate gaming discussions around the world.
While Rockstar confirmed when players can begin placing their orders, one major detail remains unknown. The company did not announce how much GTA 6 will cost.

Pricing has become one of the biggest talking points among fans and industry observers. Some analysts have suggested the game could push pricing boundaries for the industry, with a 2025 report from gaming consultancy Epyllion claiming it could potentially become the first major title to carry a $100 price tag.
Alongside the pre-order announcement, Rockstar also unveiled the official cover art for GTA 6 through a short promotional video.
The artwork prominently features the game's two protagonists, Jason and Lucia, positioned above the iconic Grand Theft Auto logo. Several other characters expected to appear throughout the story can also be seen, offering another glimpse into the world players will soon explore.
The game's fictional setting, Leonida, which is heavily inspired by the US state of Florida, is represented throughout the artwork. Flamingos, alligators and other visual references to the region appear across the design, helping establish the atmosphere of the upcoming title.

Vehicles also take centre stage, with sports cars, motorbikes and helicopters all featured in the colourful artwork. The design stays true to the franchise's recognisable pop-art aesthetic, which has become a hallmark of Grand Theft Auto releases over the years.
The reveal has generated a huge reaction online, with many fans celebrating the latest update after waiting years for concrete information about the game. One person commented:
“OMG! I’m readyyyyy!!”

Many players are also still waiting for Rockstar to release another gameplay trailer. Previous trailers released in 2023 and 2025 offered a closer look at the game's storyline, characters and setting, attracting enormous audiences online.
Combined, the two trailers have amassed around 446 million views, highlighting the extraordinary level of interest surrounding the release.
With pre-orders now officially dated and the cover art finally revealed, excitement is continuing to build as November draws closer. For many fans, the countdown to GTA 6 now feels more real than ever, even if a few are still waiting to see it with their own eyes before getting carried away.
