British YouTuber and musician Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, better known as Yung Filly, has entered the second day of his trial at Perth District Court in Western Australia, where the complainant was cross-examined by his defence barrister.

The 30-year-old has pleaded not guilty to 10 charges arising from an alleged incident following a performance at Bar1 nightclub in Perth in September 2024. He denies six counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of impeding another person's normal breathing by applying pressure to their neck. The trial is expected to last around two weeks.

Reporting from inside the courtroom, YouTuber Murad Merali said the complainant was questioned throughout the day by defence lawyer David Edwardson, who challenged multiple aspects of her account.

According to the court, the complainant admitted she had been working as a club promoter for Bar1 on the night of the alleged incident. She also agreed that she had wanted to meet Yung Filly in person and entered the venue's VIP area before 2.30am.

The defence questioned her account of events inside the VIP area, disputing her allegation that Yung Filly put his hands down her trousers and touched her breast after she said no. The complainant maintained her version of events and became emotional while giving evidence.

Jurors were then shown a video recorded inside the VIP area in which the complainant could be heard saying:

"He touched me, not in a bad way, in a good way. I love Philly."

Another video shown to the court captured the complainant saying:

"I'm going to marry him." When asked about the footage, she told the court that, at the time, "Young Philly was my idol" and that she had been "naive".

The court also heard about a diary entry in which she referred to herself as Victoria Beckham and Yung Filly as David Beckham. When asked by the defence whether he had been her favourite celebrity, she replied,

"Yes."

CCTV footage was also played to the jury, showing the complainant leaving Bar1 and appearing to communicate with Yung Filly, who was sitting in a car nearby, using a thumbs up or thumbs down gesture.

Asked about the footage, the complainant said she had felt intimidated because she was surrounded by seven men and did not want to be rude or interrupt. She also told the court she believed they were travelling to an after-party, although she agreed she could have clarified where they were going.

The defence suggested she knew there was no after-party and accused her of lying, arguing that what had begun as consensual sex had not turned into a violent assault. The complainant rejected that suggestion.

When asked why she appeared calm afterwards, despite alleging she had been assaulted, she told the court: "I put on a persona to be calm so I wouldn't be raped again."

The defence also questioned why, after alleging she had been slapped, bitten, had her breathing impeded and been anally penetrated, she asked Yung Filly for chips before leaving the hotel. She replied:

"Yes, I stupidly asked."

Another video shown to jurors reportedly showed the complainant smiling inside the hotel room shortly before she left. Explaining her demeanour, she said:

"I wanted to be seen as calm. I had a high-pitched voice to not make things worse."

The defence further challenged her account of an alleged conversation involving a security guard, telling the court it had not happened. The complainant responded:

"I disagree." When accused of telling "another lie", she replied: "I have not lied."

Describing the alleged assault, she also told the court:

"I moved away from him, put my fist up and my hands up to get him off me. I realised each time I said something he hurt me more."

The complainant was aged 20 at the time of the alleged incident, the court heard.

As proceedings from day two circulated online, social media users continued debating the evidence heard in court. One person commented:

"Clearly took advantage of her being a fan of his.. that's what these men of power & status do time and time again!!!"

Another commented:

"I did the EXACT same thing when I was raped. Put my fist up, told him to get off me. Then played nice so I could actually get out the house. Before coming to terms with what happened afterwards. it's called trauma."

A third added:

"He's been accused multiple times. Not once, not twice, multiple! Sometimes you gotta ask yourself is it everyone else? Women on here saying they saw a meal ticket in accusing him? How about he thought he was untouchable and could do what he wants? That's the way it looks to me. Stop putting these drips on a pedestal you cretins."

The trial is continuing at Perth District Court, with further evidence expected to be heard in the coming days. Barrientos continues to deny all charges and, under Australian law, is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by the court.
