SABRINA WASHINGTON ANNOUNCES CANCELLATION OF UPCOMING SOLO TOUR FOLLOWING CALLS TO POSTPONE

Sabrina Washington has announced the cancellation of her upcoming solo tour after widespread calls from fans for her to postpone the shows and focus on the future of Mis-Teeq following the group's hugely successful reunion concert.

The former Mis-Teeq star confirmed the decision in a statement shared with fans, bringing an abrupt end to plans for a solo UK tour that had been announced shortly after the group's sold-out 25th anniversary reunion performance at Wembley. Reports suggest the move follows a significant backlash from fans who hoped the reunion would lead to further appearances from the iconic R&B trio rather than a return to individual projects.

Washington had previously revealed plans to embark on a solo tour after indicating there were no immediate plans for additional Mis-Teeq shows. The announcement disappointed many fans who had hoped the reunion marked the beginning of a wider comeback for the group, which rose to prominence in the early 2000s with hits including Scandalous, All I Want and One Night Stand.

In a statement announcing the cancellation, Washington acknowledged the strength of feeling among supporters and said she had taken time to listen to feedback.

"I have been paying close attention to what people have been saying."

She added that after reading comments and seeing the public reaction, it had become clear that fans wanted to see Mis-Teeq continue performing together.

"One thing has come through very clearly."

According to reports, Washington also recognised "a strong desire to see the three of us perform Mis-Teeq's greatest hits together again," prompting her decision to cancel the solo tour and reassess future plans.

The controversy surrounding the solo announcement intensified after fellow Mis-Teeq member Su-Elise Nash publicly revealed she had not been aware that the group would not continue beyond the reunion concert.

Taking to social media, Su-Elise responded to reports suggesting the group had effectively ended again, writing:

"News to me."

She later indicated that discussions about future opportunities had been ongoing and suggested there had been interest in additional performances and festival appearances beyond the Wembley show.

Meanwhile, reports claimed Alesha Dixon was left surprised by the announcement and had expected further conversations regarding the group's future. Sources close to the singer said she had been looking forward to discussing potential opportunities following the success of the reunion, including possible festival appearances and additional live dates.

Addressing the situation in her apology, Washington admitted communication with her bandmates could have been handled better.

"I now understand that my plans may not have been fully communicated to Alesha and Su-Elise before the announcement."

She added:

"I could have shared more detail with management and spoken to the girls directly beforehand."

Washington apologised for any upset caused and stressed that she never intended to create division among fans or within the group.

The singer also sought to reassure supporters that the door remains open for future Mis-Teeq projects, stating that she has "never closed the door on Mis-Teeq" and remains willing to explore opportunities for the trio to perform together again.

For many fans, the cancellation of the solo tour has been interpreted as a positive sign that the group could yet extend its comeback beyond a single anniversary performance. While no further shows have been officially announced, renewed optimism now surrounds the possibility of additional Mis-Teeq concerts, festival appearances and future collaborations.
