Comedian and television star Mo Gilligan has taken a significant step in his personal life by becoming engaged to model and wellness influencer Taia Tulher, 28, after nearly two years together. She is expecting their first child, with the excitement underscored by recent revelations about Mo's 'secret' son.
Taia was photographed on social media wearing a ring on her wedding finger, as she documented her pregnancy; the engagement appears to have been shared only with close acquaintances and not announced publicly. A source revealed:
“Mo went the full nine yards in proposing to Taia but kept quiet about it publicly. They have been telling friends that they are engaged and everyone is really happy for them. He and Taia are so in love and really excited to be starting a family together. They already live together in London so it felt like the natural next step to get engaged. There aren’t immediate plans for a wedding yet, though. The baby will keep their hands full for a while.”
This heartwarming development follows Mo’s confirmation that he fathered a son, Rudy, with model Selina Christoforou in January 2024. Selina had previously criticised Mo’s involvement, stating,
“You can count on your fingers and toes how many times he’s seen him. You can’t make someone be a dad.”
Selina publicly accused the comedian of having almost no involvement in their son’s life. In a TikTok video, the model claimed that since little Rudy’s birth in January 2024, Gilligan has seen him only very occasionally.
“You can count on your fingers and toes how many times he’s seen him", she said.
The five-minute clip, captioned “Mo Gilligan the deadbeat dad”, featured Selina speaking directly into the camera, visibly emotional. She prefaced her statements with: “Tired of being silent,” and made it clear she felt compelled to speak out especially after discovering that Mo’s current partner, Taia, is expecting their first child together.
Shortly after Selina's post, Mo shared a video of him playing Connect 4 with a young boy, presumed to be Rudy, set to Drake’s song, including lyrics such as;
“I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world, I was hiding the world from my kid.”
Mo’s posting of the video was viewed as an attempt to counter those claims, showing a more thoughtful, protective fatherhood approach. Despite the drama, Mo and Taia now look set to build a life together in London, embracing parenthood in both its new and renewed forms. According to insiders, Mo felt ready to settle down and is over the moon to be becoming a father for a second time. Although there are no wedding plans yet, sources say it felt natural for the couple, who already live together, to take this step ahead of their baby’s arrival.
